Demographics and History
EEMC is 80 years old with a long history of a Bible based, Christ centered ministry. Our
ministry and worship style is a combination of traditional and contemporary.
The church is located in the country in the middle of two towns. It is approximately 10
miles south of Vegreville, AB and 13 miles north of Holden, AB. A very well
maintained 4 bedroom parsonage with 2 car garage is available in the town of Holden.
Our congregation consists of all age groups ranging from grade school to senior citizens
and is mainly made up of farm families with a history of Christian Fellowship with this
church. Sunday morning attendance averages about 25 people in a sanctuary that can
hold approximately 100. Our services run for approximately 1 ½ hours and include
music, prayer time, sharing opportunities and preaching (currently from a video series
with occasional guest speakers).
Church Leadership and Organization
EEMC is governed by a “Board of Elders” (4 members) who work together to make
decisions and oversee all aspects and various programs in accordance to our church
bylaws.
The pulpit ministry of the church has been satisfactory in the absence of a Senior Pastor.
We have been using excellent videos from other churches while the worship team has
been using a wide variety of music to fill in the gaps. Everyone has been working very
hard to sustain our church organization. We continue to support our missions and
provide our community with “church –based services” like weddings and funerals etc.
Community
EEMC is located between two small towns which enables the church to draw from both
communities.
Vegreville has a population of 5 520 people with a trading area exceeding 42 000. It is
self sufficient and provides all services and programs. It has a hospital, several schools,
first class recreation facilities, an airport and a 9-hole golf course. Vegreville boasts
extensive involvement in organized minor-league sports, regional recreation and cultural
and entertainment events.

Holden is a small prairie town with a population of approximately 400 people. It is a
traditional, charming rural community with a good school, churches and recreational
facilities.

Both towns are only 45 minutes away from Alberta’s capital city of Edmonton which has
an overall population of 1 million people and boasts any service, facility or opportunity
you could possibly need or want.
