You have just become part of a wonderful opportunity. I am here to support,

Your Consultant Start- up Guide
THIS will be your Scentsy bible and it is full of information you will want to
become familiar with. Take some time to read through it, even if it’s only a little
bit every day. In addition to your Consultant Start- up Guide, there are some
things that are important for you to know as you get started in your business.
Scentsy Customer Service #s and email
You can reach Scentsy Customer Service from 7am-7pm MST, Monday through
Friday at (877) 855-0617.
Your First 15 Days * Shooting Star*
Scentsy offers a great Enhancement Kit to Consultants who reach $500 in
personal retail sales volume (PRV) in their first 15 days (from signing date) with
Scentsy. When you reach the $500 PRV mark within the 15 days, you can then
purchase within the next 30 days, the Enhancement Kit, which includes 10
warmers, for $200! This is a great deal and a fantastic way to build your stock of
warmers for display at your parties. Keep in mind that you don’t get to select
which 10 warmers you would like, but the company does give you a good
variety. The $200. does go toward your volume and you will get paid commission
on it  When you qualify call customer service to redeem your kit.
Your First 70 Days
Scentsy offers you the opportunity to reach one of three levels in
your first 70 days called the Scentsational Start. You can achieve the levels by
hitting specific Personal Retail Sales Volumes, recruiting new consultants or a
combination of both. At each level you earn a bonus ranging from $50-$200! All
the details are listed in your Consultant Handbook. If you have questions or need
clarification, please ask! Set your goals in your Scentsy business for the first 60
days around the level of Scentsational Start you want to achieve!
Monthly Sales Award
You can earn this award by achieving $2,000 in Personal Retail Sales each
month. The award is a 5% override on your total PRV, so if you reach $2,000 in
PRSV, you will receive an extra $100 bonus, if you reach $3,000 PRSV, your bonus
would be an additional $150, etc. SELL SELL SELL and earn more $$$
Scentsy Workstation & Website
You should become familiar with your Consultant Workstation as soon as
possible (login with your consultant ID and password). One of the most
important things you will want to do is to personalize your Scentsy website. You
can also make a personalized message and update it anytime. You will also
want to log on to your Consultant Workstation almost everyday to watch for
new, important company news and information.
Your Scentsy website is FREE for the first 90 days! After the 90 days, your website is
just $10 per month. You can set up an automatic subscription so that you don’t
have to worry about paying the $10 and it will automatically be taken care of
each month.
Training
The best place to get started is the “Training Center” tab. Here you can watch
videos on how to Navigate through the workstation, set up your website, How to
Have a Party and other great ideas!
Scent & Warmer of the Month Combo
You can get the warmer of the month 15 days before it is available for purchase
by customers. For $60 per month, you get a full-size warmer, six Scentsy bars,
one Scentsy brick, one room spray, a party tester, and a mini-tester. The $60
also counts toward your monthly PRV. I highly recommend you sign up for this!
Hostess Rewards Program
Scentsy offers hostesses a generous hostess rewards program! Be sure to
become familiar with the hostess program. You can then talk with your hostesses
or potential hostesses about what they can earn by hosting a party. The most
important things to be aware is that several of the multi packs qualify as a ½
priced item. Combo packs with an asterisk are not eligible for ½ price items, but
CAN be purchased with Free Product Credit. Please contact your sponsor or
me if you need any clarification on this.
Supplies
You will want to determine what kind of supplies you are going to need to
hold parties. What do you want to store and transport your party testers in? Do
you want to use clipboards or folders for the catalog, order form, scent list, and
door prize drawing form? Will you have a door prize at your parties? Do you
want a tablecloth and other décor items to use with your warmer display etc.?
Feel free to ask me or other consultants what they do and what works best for
them and then adapt it to what will work best for you!
Party testers
When you receive your party testers we have found it helpful to color-code
them. Put a small colored sticker on the top each one to help you separate
them out into categories. This will make it easier and faster to set up at your
parties and also helps with finding the right scent for your customer.
(Scentsy Success sells small round labels for $2.)
Category cards or Small place cards
Category cards set in front of each tray or basket will make it helpful to your
guests to choose the scents they like. Print the names of the different
categories… They Look nice framed in 2 x 3 frames or on wired photo holders.
(Scentsy Success also sells category cards.)
Hostess Binder/Packet
This is great to give to your hostess a few days before the party so she can get
familiar with Scentsy! In it you can include a few catalogs, scent of the month
flier, order forms, FAQ sheet, and any other helpful information you can provide.
If you can spare a set of mini-testers for her to use, it will help her to sell to guests
who cannot make it to her party.
Mini Testers
These are all of your party testers in a smaller version (the size of lip gloss jars)
Along with a Hostess Binder with your Basket Testers you can have a party and
not even be there! Just drop off a warmer, binder, and scents off at your hair
salon, dentist office, or with friend who works in an office....They can set it out
and take orders!
Put a LABEL on everything!
Open all of the warmer boxes and put a label on the bottom of each warmer
(except plug-ins). I put a label on the inside of each bar lid, and on the back
side of travel tin, scent circle, and scent pak packages, as well as on the side of
room sprays (vertically) . When they run out or give these items as gifts…there
you are :)
Scentsy Font
This is how you put it in your computer..... Right click on the attachment and
save as Scentsy Font in My Documents. Find it in My Documents and right click
on it and copy. Go to Control Panel, Fonts, right click and paste it in. It's called
Sister Frisky.
Make your Samples!
Wilton silicon baking or ice cube trays work the best. Melt down the Bricks you
get with your SCENT of the MONTH kit and make your samples! (best to use a
glass measuring cup and melt it slowly in the microwave a few cubes at a time.)
You can get small clear jewelry bags to put them in…attach them to a business
card and pass them out to EVERYONE!!!
Scentsy Marketing materials
In addition to the marketing items that Scentsy offers directly, Scentsy Success
has created a lot of wonderful marketing materials for consultants that you can
purchase directly from them. I recommend their personalized business cards,
invitations, tester labels, etc. You cannot use Vista Print or other printing
company without submitting your design for approval (a real pain!) You can
find Scentsy Success in your workstation. Let your business make $ before you
start buying fun stuff.
$ Pay Day
10th of each month. Go to Scentsypay.com. Login with your Scentsy consultant
number and password. You can see your balances here and you can transfer
the funds directly into your business checking account. Personally, I only use my
business checking account for Scentsy transactions as it makes it very easy to
find every expense for tax time since everything is in one place. It is good
practice to set aside 25-30% if your commission so you have money to pay your
taxes when they come due in April (better to have a surplus in your account
than a defecit). Once you have completed your first year and your accountant
has had an opportunity to review your earnings and expenses, (s)he can give
you a much better estimate of what percentage to set aside from that point
forward.
All of the above are just some of the most important things I want every new
consultant to be aware of as soon as they begin their Scentsy business. The New
Consultant Handbook also lists many things that you might want to have in
place to start your business. There are many other things that will be covered in
your New Consultant training and other things that you will just continue to learn
as you move along in Scentsy and begin to gain experience.
