Pumping Technology A/S in Norresundby. Desmi has together with the joint venture partners A.P.
Moller and Ultra Aqua developed the compliant Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) named
Desmi Ocean Guard. The BWTS system is granted final approved by IMO Marine Environment
Protection Committee and in process of being type approved by Lloyds’ Register.
Now we build the organization for taking the product to the market. You will be an important part of building an ambitious Ballast Water Treatment Team primarily targeting the EMEA region developing DESMI’s market position together with our other regional teams.
The Application Manager is going to fill out the position between the product team, the sales marketing and the order fulfillment team. In order to succeed in the position you not only get the opportunity to work within the technology area of maritime Ballast Water Treatment Systems, but also:
- Work within a growing maritime business area with a significant potential
- Take active part in developing the DESMI Systems & Solutions portfolio
- Travel 40 - 60 days a year and take on a position with numerous regionally contacts
Building the Team and the Portfolio:
As Application Manager you will combine your solid maritime experience within technical systems and technologies - to pass on - and propose the optimal technical BWTS solutions to our market activities. It is your responsibility to describe the ideal solution that provides most value to our customer.
In doing so your main responsibility are:
- To develop customized product specification
- To deliver technical documentation required by contract
- To provide technical support related to assigned projects and to the sales organization on creating sales material tools etc.

When needed you are in contact with specialists in the product competence center who offer help and expertise within their field. Maritime technical competent individual who can build strong relations
You have a solid maritime related technical background as Mechanical Engineer and a minimum of
2 years of experience working with maritime systems and solutions, shipowners, shipyards and/or
Classification Societies. You have practical maritime experiences and most probably been at sea.
International experience from the maritime industry would be an advantage. It is also important that you have a commercial mind set, good communication skills and a strong practical approach.
Finally, you like working in a maritime growth orientated technical environment and your extrovert personality creates networks and strong relations easily internal as well as external. Of course you are fluent in English.

Be the support for our companies around the world
As Application Manager you will use your solid experience within Pumping Technology to pass on and propose the optimal technical solutions to our global sales companies and external sales network. In doing so, it is your responsibility to describe an ideal solution that provides most value to the customer. Around
70% of the time you work from the office in Nørresundby, preparing the solutions for our sales teams and the remaining 30% you meet the end-customers and participate in networking/training with key suppliers - both internal and external. As Application Manager you therefore act as interface between product, production and sales force.

Specialist within Pumping Technology who can build strong relations
You have a solid technical background as Mechanical Engineer and a minimum of 3 years of experience working with Pumping Technology or related technology. You have practical maritime experiences, and
International experience from the maritime industry would be an advantage. Of course you are fluent in
English.

It is important that you have a commercial mind set, good communication skills and a strong practical approach as well as the will to make the sales companies succeed. Your passion is to provide technical solutions within Pumping Technology and your technical background makes you an expert within this area.
