Systems Engineer Job Reference: LM People Job Code/Title: Location: Programme / Functional Group: MST11305 N9023I / Co-op Technical Sr Havant MST IS - Multiple Description of Business Environment: The Systems Engineering Industrial Trainee will be a member of the Maritime Engineering team for Lockheed Martin, working closely with experienced members of the corporation. The job entails working in the Maritime Team to support systems engineering effort in a variety of Maritime programmes. Various systems engineering activities will be undertaken such as requirements analysis, operational concepts review, design analysis, system design, use case compilation, trials planning and customer demonstrations. Specific Job Description: Reporting to the Maritime Engineering Manager, and under general direction of the Engineering Leadership Team, the role provides support to the Maritime Engineering team. Duties include: Contribute to team success supporting systems engineers to design this high level architecture for enhancements to operational systems. Work with senior engineers in discussions with customers during requirements analysis – converting operational needs into technical requirements specifications. Support and be involved with design analysis and associated use cases. Work with Business Development and Programme Management during capture & proposal phases of multiple programmes. The candidate will be exposed to several disciplines (Specialist Engineering, Human Factors, Systems and Software Engineering, Integration and Test, System Modelling) during the placement. Required Skills: Working towards a degree in Systems Engineering, or other related engineering degree Good Communication skills Ability to work well in a team environment Good IT skills in a range of SW packages Ability to prioritise own tasking to meet program needs Desired Skills: Familiarity with any of the following: Requirements derivation/analysis Experience of System modelling tools Use case/sequence diagram compilation System modelling tools Standard Job Description: Participates in a structured cooperative educational/work program between the company and a college/university, and enrolled in an accredited degree program directly related to skills required by the company. Performs assigned tasks in technical/engineering disciplines e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Quality Engineering. Typical Minimum Education & Experience: Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through proven professional experience.
