AP Statistics Course Requirements
AP Statistics draws connections between all aspects of the statistical process, including design,
analysis, and conclusions. It teaches students how to communicate methods, results and
interpretations using the vocabulary of statistics. Students are expected to read, complete and
check daily homework assignments and will be assigned projects to reinforce chapter concepts.
Students receive instruction in four conceptual themes, with appropriate emphasis given to each
theme.
 Exploring Data: describing patterns and departures from patterns
 Sampling and Experimentation: Planning and conducting a study
 Anticipating Patterns: Exploring random phenomena using probability and
simulation
 Statistical Inference: Estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses

AP Calculus BC Requirements
Success in calculus depends on the student’s mastery of Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calculus. In
AP Calculus, there is an emphasis on multi-representation. Problems dealing with limits,
derivatives, integrals, sequences and series are presented and solved graphically, numerically,
algebraically, and verbally. The BC curriculum covers college Calculus 1 and 2. The course is
presented in a rigorous manner and. students must be in the habit of doing and understanding
their homework as well as checking it.

Parent and student signatures indicate the understanding that the course is challenging
and rigorous and the student is capable of successfully mastering the AP curriculum. Once
a student signs up for an AP class, they cannot drop the class unless there are mitigating
circumstances. Any request for change must go through the principal. All AP students
must take the AP exam in May.
