Madura caters to a diverse price point in menswear in India. Currently I am with the largest and most successful menswear
brand under this umbrella - Peter England.

Job Profile:
1. Merchandise Planning: The Peter England business model consists of 2 types of product ratio, A) Pre Production
Order/PPO – a design based collection to be marketed at higher price points and targeted to a different segment; and
B) Core product – which consists of the basic volume based business. As product manager it is my responsibility to
originate the inspiration for design by feeding them market trend & demand & providing an elaborate grid consists no.
of options, colors count, base fabric, no. of option per MRP slab etc., oversee the execution of product sales, follow it
through with the production and analyze the numbers to set targets for future seasons in association with the top
management and key team players.
2. Core Product Management: Core product is the Top line of our business and contributes approx 28% to the total
sales. One of my key responsibilities is to keep this product range balanced round the year in terms of sales and stock.
Keeping a finger on the pulse of this product category is essential so that weaker designs are phased out and newer
designs/colors etc are introduced to boost sales.
3. Sales analysis/ Costing/ Profit and Margin: The AMP (annual marketing plan) or the projection for the year is based
on a 3year old database and its derivatives. Here, in Peter England, we work with a certain Gross profit% (GP), which
must be kept steady or increased at any given time which entails an overall review of each product type every season
to ensure that relevant price sensitive measures are taken to keep the GP% consistent.
4. Inventory management: As product manager am responsible for all the fabric that I buy & FG that I create. work. I
continuously monitor the inventory level & keep liquidate them within the timeframe that the co. work upon. This gets
decided based on healthy & unhealthy inventory, market specific needs etc & calls taken with sales reg discounts.
5. New Product launch: With the Indian retail market becoming extremely competitive each season, End of Season
Sales (EOSS) have become a crucial part of the business. Part of my profile is also to direct the designing of a EOSS
specific collection as well as the creation of market specific flash ranges to identify and en cash on revenue generating
opportunities. Currently working on various new project like marriage collection, new core product etc.
6. Brand building activity: My responsibility is also to bring out branding activation for next session, here I am a part
of deciding as which will be next sessions big idea which will end up to print media & some idea that will be only in
store branding etc. this then communicated to marketing & agencies. I also decide retail high runner based on this
activity & procure fabrics based upon.
7. Packaging & New concept development: Continuous innovation and invention is an integral part of my profile. As a
team, we endeavor to launch more than two product categories in every season, to guarantee the success of such
ventures; I work closely with design, tech, PD, sourcing & mktg teams to introduce an element of newness in the
product line. Ongoing project is new packing of British micro collections. Communication with VM team for prefect
product display, as presentation is the key.
Achievements:
 Successfully and single handedly handled my 1 st PPO tradeshow within a month of my joining with 15%
order and 3% GP growth compare to last season. I also won the “Trojan King Award” during trade show for
the highest order bookings.
 Within my 5months of my tenure, I have already handled all the above responsibilities distinctly. To name a
few, have been instrumental in the launch of “Platinum stripes”, a new core range. I have also initiated the
launch of 3 flash collections & 2 EOSS collection and am currently working on 3rd trade show.
 Basic working on SAP & PLM (product lifestyle management) software.

SS10 booking has bagged an 18% higher booking no. (6.7laks) compare to AW09 cause of rite product vs
MRP grid, extensive market study & rite offering.

Launch of PE Wedding line with 15k pcs booked at the tradeshow with 85laks/- NSV generated.

Core Royale collection launch with 7k pcs billed in the 1 st month.

PE twin pack shirt; initial launch plan is 60k shirts in Q3 with projected 43% GP & 983 (lks) NSV

Avenue B) Parx C) Notting Hill, D) Color plus E) Zapp F) Manzoni and the newest jewel in the crown is Raymond (Raymond
Finely Crafted Garment) brand, which was launched in the RMG sector for 3 successful seasons now. This brand caters to the
higher price bracket and a very contemporary classic clientele. Merchandise includes Knitwear, shirts, suits and trousers.

per day with auto/rapier looms for yarn dyed and dobby fabrics. The prestigious clientele includes brands such as Wrangler,
Marks n Spencer, Tessco, Matalan, H&M, C&A, PF Clipper Concept, Seidensticker, New wave, George, K-mart etc. The main
product is mens shirts and t-shirts.

A) Primary responsibility was Design and Business Development. Also spearheading the specific design execution and
ensuring aesthetic execution of prototypes and counter samples of new tech packs. Supervising samples for size specification,
style detail, fit, fabric, overall aesthetics, and with the requisite production concerns, if any.
B) In addition to this, design and present new collection every season by making my own color forecast, mood boards, shape
and styling detail forecast basis developing mkt trends; basically a go-getter profile that without limits and to increase business
with value additions.
C) Developing CAD patterns for fabrics basis the buyers feedback, developing fabric yardages basis these designs, amending
the fabric designs according to the buyer’s requirements.
D) Undertaking overseas travel to the buyer’s offices to present company’s in house collection prior to every season. It was a
part of my profile to market & promote the company’s R&D strength & help securing better orders.
E) The secondary job profile was to set up a full fledged design studio, where I had a team of 3 jr. designers & an entire
sampling set up to continuously feed the buyers with new design input & help the company in diversification of markets and

Achievements:
 Successfully designed & launched the company's 1st participation in Texworld (Paris) ’07 with new collections & in-stall
branding. This step had fetched 5 new accounts for the company.
 Traveled every season to Premier Vision, Texworld Paris as well as Wrangler, Tessco, Linmark, CMT etc offices in UK,
Brussels, Hong Kong and Thailand for marketing and presentation to bring more volume in business.
 Company now supplies customized and exclusive design packages to buyers like Wrangler, VFO (Mexico), Disney, H&M,
M&S and C&A and get the price benefit in orders that come through this design support.

Linmark Intl is a reputed buying house with 28 offices across the globe, which services prestigious clientele such as Calvin
Klein, Chaps (Ralph Lauren), Mother Care, Speedo, Jockey and Hudson’s Bay Company. My prime job responsibility was
managing the sourcing, sampling and production for the Canadian client Hudson’s Bay company & USA client Warnaco
(Calvin Klein & Chaps /Ralph Lauren), main product was knitwear along with wovens too

A) Primary responsibility was to prototype and counter sampling the tech packs sent by the client that I had to monitor
thoroughly and continuously in order to ensure the samples reached the client for their sign off sales meeting as expected in
terms of technique as well as aesthetics.
B) This was a target driven job. Once the orders are booked, starting farther communication with the buyer, sorting all pending
approvals and taking the production through its ups and downs till hand over was part of my profile.
C) Presentation on season-based design collections for all genders. Collections included both knits and woven categories
ranging from outerwear to nightwear, working on the strengths of the vendor base of Linmark International in India.
D) Sourcing was also an integral part of my profile. I worked with new vendors in terms of innovation (in textiles,
embellishments, trims, etc) and value addition to the styles, new trims, accessories & constantly updating the buyer to keep the
options open for additional business. This helped the buyer to cut down the R&D cost at their end and also helped Linmark to
promote the vendor’s basis their respective strengths.
E) I worked closely with the designers and traveled to the domestic vendor base regions including Tirupur/ Bangalore for
sampling follow-up & sourcing as well as the quality team for production.
F) I was also focusing on development of a new vendor base for bottoms wear which Linmark had not tapped for this client, as
part of my sourcing profile.

Company: M/s Royal Classic Mills Pvt Ltd (Tirupur / Bangalore/ India)
Royal Classic Mills is a 200 crore Tirupur based vertically integrated knitwear company with technical collaboration from
Kitaro (Germany). This is an export house which caters to brands like Signum, Hans , Sara Lee, etc. The company also retails
golf wear in domestic market through the brand name “Classic Polo”.

Arora Fashions Ltd. is a 120cr Tirupur based knitwear exporter for renowned European brands like Auchan, Quele,
Woolworth, etc. It is one of the largest export houses in Tirupur with over 40 factories under its wings. The primary production
was knitted intimate wear, nightwear for all age groups with emphasis on value addition through complex prints and
embroideries.
