Specialist Doctor for the Radiology Diagnostics Department at the Regional Hospital of Horsens Having undergone full-scale technological renovations and complete modernisation in recent years, the radiology diagnostic department (BDA) of Hospital Unit Horsens (Hospitalsenheden Horsens) is today fully digitalised – using PACS, TGK, digital radiology, iHospital (the interactive hospital) and the IT-based planning system, Hosinfo – and further boasting state-of-the-art equipment such as 3 ultrasound scanners, a 64-channel CT scanner, a high-end CT scanner and two MR scanners. We are expanding our CT capacity with e.g. HRCT, CT KAG and CT colography. Thus the future has exciting tasks in store for you – with respect to the discipline of radiology as well as management – tasks focused on the department’s apparatus equipment, the workflow and the development of efficient routines. The department’s productivity is almost unequalled. The department is involved in well-established conference activities and in charge of a number of professional projects within the field of radiology, comprising all examination modalities. We work with e.g.: Foxtrot-project. Pilot US project for clinicians. Two MR projects in collaboration with Aarhus University Hospital. CT booking function. The Danish Quality Model II. The provision and equipment of new MR and bone rooms. The new Danish regulations for patients' guarantee. Cetrea – a further development of the in-house logistics system. The good radiology diagnostic referral. Quality measures due to image-quality auditing. Innovation Participation in a wide range of regional meetings pertaining to the National Bowel Cancer screening and other diagnostic procedures. Ensuring our compliance with the Danish ministerial order on radiology by means of quality-appraisal meetings and annual cycles of work; ensuring departmental radiology quality and action plans pertaining to radiology procedures. With sections in Horsens as well as at the health centre, Skanderborg Sundscenter, the department performs between 90,000 and 95,000 radiology procedures on an annual basis. The section in Horsens is manned day and night, whereas the Skanderborg Sundscenter section, primarily targeted at elective outpatients, operates with limited opening hours. BDA’s area of responsibility comprises emergency as well as planned examinations; the education of junior doctors, medical students and radiology students; and research and development. Consultant physicians to Hospital Unit Horsens are on call from their homes. In Skanderborg, there is no outreach clinic work. The standard staffing level for the team of doctors is 14: 1 Head consultant, 8 consultants, 1 staff physician, 1 primary-education position and 3 introduction physicians. The entire medical staff, comprising approx. 67 employees, is a diverse organisation, founded in the belief that precisely the elements of diversity and contrast are what lends a team its strength. The department's emphasis on employee and patient satisfaction has proved to be successful, and we are equally focused on well-functioning collaborative relations with our partners, internally within the department as with our in-house and external associates.
