<H2><center>Tektronix 1503B Time Domain Reflectometer</H2></center>

The 1503B is designed to quickly and easily locate opens, shorts, crimps and
other defects in metallic cables up to 15,000 Meters (50,000 ft) in length.
Through a process similar to radar, the 1503B transmits electrical pulses down
the cable under test. Impedance changes in the cable reflect some of the pulse
energy back to the 1503B. The reflections are displayed on the LCD display. The
characteristics of the display trace allow the user to determine the nature of the
cable fault.
The 1503B has 2, 10, 100 and 1000 Nanosecond pulse width. When using the 2
ns pulse width on 50 ohm cable with a Vp of 0.66, multiple faults as close as 10
feet can be detected. Cable impedances of 50, 75, 93 and 125 ohms are
selectable for testing different types of cable.

The Model 302SL Foam & Rubber Durometer measures the hardness of soft materials such as
foam rubber, sponge rubber, disposable diapers, jells, donuts, etc. This instrument can perform
comparative hardness tests on foam or sponge rubber without the cost of using an indention load
deflection (ILD) test machine. PTC® Model 302SL offers a cost-effective means of checking
these materials with speed, portability, and accuracy. The Model 302SL is based on the force of a
variable load over an area of one square centimeter. The instrument is simple to use and can be
used in conjunction with the Model 470 Test Stand for faster and more precise testing. When
using the test stand, the material and the stage are lifted up to the durometer until the load cell of
the stand separates. The resettable max hand records the peak reading. Several readings should
be made and the results averaged. The sample should have an area of at least 1-1/4" square and
be at least 3/4" thick. Thinner materials must be stacked (do not glue) to obtain this thickness.
