Countries Project Directions: Students will choose a country in Europe or South America for this project (ideally, one they are not familiar with). Students will develop a profile and map for that country. The profile will include information about population, climate, religions, language, economics (top imports/exports, form of currency, etc.) and the current leader/form of government. The profile should also contain at least one other interesting fact about the country (history, food, celebrations, etc.) The profile may be in paragraph or bullet form. The project will also include a student drawn map of the chosen country (you can start with a blank outline map if you wish). Students should include a map with topographic/physical features, legend, latitude and longitude, and the capital. The map and profile should be on the same paper if possible (large construction paper will be available in class). The presentation should include at least one other graphic of interest (i.e. pictures, charts, graphs, flags). These projects will be presented in class…so practice!
