MEMORANDUM FOR ALL MISSISSIPPI-LOUISIANA JROTC AIR RIFLE TEAMS
SUBJECT: 2014/2015 Mississippi/Louisiana JROTC Rifle League
1. This memorandum establishes the policies and procedures for the Mississippi-
Louisiana JROTC Rifle League for the 2014-2015 school year. A team will consist of 4 shooters and schools may enter as many teams as they wish. The charge will be $25.00 per team. If you have individuals who are not part of a team, they may fire as individuals at a charge of $10 per individual. Team members are automatically included in the individual competition. Competition is open to all JROTC units in Mississippi and
Louisiana regardless of branch. Only sporter-class air rifles are allowed.
2. All registrations are due to Gulfport High School when you submit your first monthly targets. However, if you send the registration early it would help us prepare for scoring.
3. All participants must register with CMP ( www.odcmp.com
) and obtain a CMP identification number.
4. League Competition consists of three (3) postal matches and a shoulder-to-shoulder championship match to determine the league champion. The championship match will be fired at the RCSD Marksmanship facility located in Brandon, MS. The top ten schools will be eligible to participate in the championship match, which will consist of a
3x20 round of fire and will be certified by the Civilian Marksmanship Program as a CMP
Cup Match.
5. Each school is authorized one school team for the final match. It will be up to each school’s marksmanship coach to determine which four shooters will shoot in the CMP
Cup Shoulder Championship.
6. The following trophies/medals will be awarded:
a. Postal Competition:
(1) Team awards. 1 st
, 2 nd
, and 3 rd
place teams will receive a season trophy. The total score of all three (3) matches will determine the winners.

(2) Individual awards. 1 st
, 2 nd
and 3 rd
place winners in each season position (prone, standing, kneeling) and for total season score. Winners will be based on the total individual scores for the three (3) postal matches.
b. Shoulder-to-Shoulder Championship Match:
(1) Team awards. 1 st
, 2 nd
, and 3 rd
place trophies for the match.
(2) Individual awards. 1 st
, 2 nd
and 3 rd
place winners in each position (prone,
standing, kneeling) and for total score.
7. The Orion Target System and Krueger Targets will be used to grade all targets.
Targets submitted on standard AR-10 targets will not be accepted. Schools will purchase their own Orion Targets and mail them NLT the monthly deadline to Gulfport High
School MCJROTC (CMP is cheapest source I have found). Before firing, clearly print the first and last name of the shooter, position fired and CMP number of the shooter on the front of each target above the target area line. Targets may be pre-scored by coaches but please do not write on the targets except in the areas designated above the target area.
After each match is fired, mail targets to Gulfport High School. Please DO NOT plug any targets . The score determined by the administrator is final. A spreadsheet will be emailed to each participating school after each postal match is scored. The score will also be made available online at Orion Match Results. Schools with Orion scoring systems may submit the monthly match as a virtual match using the Orion scoring system.
8. Your teams will have a deadline to shoot each monthly postal match. Please mail targets on or before postmark deadline, any targets not postmarked on or before the deadline will be counted as zero toward the overall score. The postal portion of the match will not be sanctioned by CMP, however the 3x20 shoulder-to-shoulder championship match will be. Targets submitted for the virtual input to the monthly match must be submitted by each monthly deadline. Invitations to the Championship Match will be sent NLT 5 January 2015.
9. Please respond to my email address to let me know if you plan to participate in the
League this year. This will give me the tentative number of shooters to start planning.

3X20 Shoulder-to-Shoulder CMP POSTAL CUP Match will be held at
RCSD Marksmanship Facility, Brandon, MS on 23 – 24 January 2015.

10. Senior Instructor at each school is responsible for the operation of his/her range IAW
CMP and/or service regulations and the authenticity of each target submitted
