Job Description for Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist
 Completion of a Masters’ degree from an accredited university.
 State of Wisconsin licensure (APSW) required in order to network
with managed care companies and bill for therapy services.
 Prior clinical experience working with individuals and/or families
required. This includes providing assessment, diagnosis, and
treatment.
 Provide thorough, accurate, and timely communication with clients.
This includes electronic and/or paper charting.
 Abide by the laws that govern client confidentiality. Obtain client
consent through a signed release of information when
collaborating with other professionals, family members, and/or
gathering collateral information.
 Practice within scope of knowledge and understanding. This
includes utilizing treatment modalities that the clinician has training
and direct clinical experience implementing.
 Attend and contribute to clinical staff meetings on a regular basis.
This includes working with clinical supervisor (if applicable) to
schedule and attend supervision meetings.
 Remain up to date on literature and research findings that
contribute to building knowledge and providing sound assessment,
diagnosis, and clinical care.
 Attend trainings to increase knowledge base and understanding of
client populations served and treatment modalities.
 Communication with the therapists and office staff in a way that
conveys and accomplishes professional collaboration and delivery
of service.
 Project and uphold professionalism in networking within the larger
community.
