Yunnan University of Finance & Economics
Yunnan University of Finance & Economics (YUFE) is a multi-disciplinary university. It is not only strong in
economics, management and law, but also offers programs in philosophy, liberal arts, natural science, and
engineering. The University has been officially approved to confer Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
Founded
in 1951, YUFE was designated as one of the key provincial institutions of higher learning by the Yunnan
Provincial Government in 1995.
With 21 schools and departments, YUFE has set up 36 undergraduate programs. Moreover, YUFE has four
first-class disciplines which are entitled to grant Master’ degrees in the fields of Theoretical Economics, Applied
Economics, Management Science and Engineering, and Business Administration. There are a total of 40
second-class disciplines entitled to grant Master’s degrees in YUFE, such as Finance, Fiscal Science and World
Economics. The teaching team of YUFE consists of over 1,300 faculty members including over 800 full-time
lecturers. Among them, there are more than 400 Professors or Associate Professors and about 100 PhDs. YUFE
has over 12,000 full time undergraduates and graduates, including 400 long-time international students from 13
countries.
Aiming to promote the globalization of higher education and academic research, YUFE has established close
links with over twenty universities around the world.
These Universities include but are not limited to The First
Industrial Economics & Technology Institute and Alliance of Northern Economics & Technology Institutes in
Vietnam, Yangon Institute of Economics in Myanmar, Osaka Sangyo University and Teikyo University in Japan,
Charles Sturt University and University of Western Australia in Australia, Suan Dusit Rajabhat University in
Thailand, the University of Hawaii, Keuka College, the John F. Kennedy University and the National American
University in the United States, Manipal Academy of Higher Education in India, the University of Greenwich
in UK, and Le Groupe Sup de CO Montpellier and Ecole Superieure des Science Commerciales d'Angers in
France. Moreover, the three joint education programs with Charles Sturt University, Keuka College and the
University of Greenwich were approved by the Academic Committee of the State Council of China and have
become highlights of the University.
Located in the north of Kunming, the “eternal spring city,” YUFE occupies an area of 1021 mu (68 hectares).
The campus environment is favorable and all necessities are provided to students for their convenience.

characterizes modern computer usage and long-distance learning.
