I have taken over as secretary for this year’s event, after Ted stood down from organising it for a number of years. He said it was time to pass on the responsibility to someone younger! Well I am not that much younger, and have other plans for next year so hope to have a “shadow” to take over from me! Any volunteers? As you can see we have moved the location to the Town Square. The town’s business community was keen to attract more visitors to the town so have kindly invited us to be part of the extended series of events during the summer. The Horticultural Society is participating in the Britain in Bloom Competition and we are trying to encourage younger people into gardening with the “Plant a Wellie” competition which has been sent to all schools in the area. There will also be trade stands within the area to to see demonstrations and enable you to purchase plants. Thanks to all sponsors, judges and advertisers who have helped support this event. We hope you will enjoy it.
