Position: Manager: Enterprise Risk Management x2 Scale Code: 125 Division: Group Risk Management and Governance Report Line: General Manager: Enterprise Risk Management ________________________________________________________________ MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To advise on, formulate, oversee and manage all aspects of an organisation’s risk management system, monitors the SABC’s entire risk profile, ensure that major risks are identified and reported to the Group Executive and the Board. Provide and maintain the risk management infrastructure to assist management in fulfilling its responsibilities Key Responsibilities Advise and communicate the SABC’s ERM objectives and direction to the Board, Group Executive and Senior Management. Guide the SABC in developing risk mitigation and monitoring strategies for critical corporate risks. Establish, communicate and facilitate the use of appropriate ERM methodologies, tools and techniques. Work with Divisions, Business Units, to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities and capacity. Facilitate and review enterprise wide risk assessments and monitor priority risks across the SABC, half yearly. Implement appropriate risk reporting to the GCEO, Group Executive, Senior Management and Board. Ensure effective alignment between the ERM process and Group Internal Audit and Group Finance. Benchmark global best practice on Corporate risk management Develop project risk management capabilities within the SABC Implement an IT strategy to support ERM Develop overall Risk strategy, Framework and Policy for SABC Limited. Develop and maintained appropriate Governance systems to support the SABC enterprise risk management. Monitor and eliminate all risks impacting on the achievement of the Corporate Strategy Identify and implement an appropriate information system that supports the corporate strategy and risk management ethos. Monitor and evaluate performance on enterprise risk management, including corrective risk adjustments, long term direction, new ideas, opportunities and controls Facilitate the provision of continuous feedback to the GE: Risk & Governance, Group Executive and Board. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of processes, procedures and operations to identify and manage operational and financial risk; Business process evaluation, re-design and continuous improvement and ensure that they are in line with Corporate Strategy implementation; Evaluation and monitoring of the financial control environment, identifying areas of weak internal controls and implementing new controls to strengthen the control environment; Ensuring compliance and reporting on all statutory reporting required of the organization; Pro-active management of all business plans, contractions and transactions with forex exposure and liaising with treasury to manage risk; Develop mechanisms to reduce risks in the commissioning process to ensure that potential risks are identified timeously and remedial action taken to manage risks. Pro-active forecasting, management and control of the SABC’s cash flow and media asset stock holding. Ensure compliance with VAT, IFRS, PFMA, Broadcasting Act, ICASA Regulations and all relevant Legislations. Job Competencies & Requirements. B. Degree or equivalent with 3 -5 years broadcasting experience Analytical and Strategic thinker Knowledge and understanding of SABC Strategy and Corporate Goals Understanding of the Broadcasting landscape and challenges Ability to communicate at Senior Management and Executive level Proficient verbal and written communication Possess political savvy Sound understanding of ERM principles understanding of key strategic focus areas of the SABC Team Player who possess interpersonal skills Ability to handle highly confidential information Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act and the SABC’s Employment Equity initiatives.
