Drainage Retrofit to the Beaufort County Government Complex

It is the intent of Beaufort County to solicit competitive sealed Statements of Qualifications from
qualified General Contractors and listed Subcontractors for Drainage Retrofit to the Beaufort
County Government Complex, 100 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, SC 29902
Sealed qualifications will be received until 5:00 p.m., November 29, 2012 at which time responses
to this request will be recorded in the presence of one or more witnesses in the Purchasing
Department, 102 Industrial Village Rd, Building #3, Beaufort, South Carolina 29906.
A mandatory Pre-Qualifications meeting will be held November 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Beaufort County Annex Complex, 102 Industrial Village Road, Building #2, Beaufort SC 29906.
The scope of work for this project consists of removing large areas of asphalt in the administration
parking lot and replacing the asphalt with a variety of innovative pervious paving systems. This
paving system leaves water-permeable void space along the edge of each paver. Each of the paving
systems will be constructed upon a thick stone base where the stormwater is stored and allowed to
infiltrate into the underlying soils. Four rain gardens will be constructed within the parking area’s
landscape islands to promote disconnected impervious pavement and further promote infiltration.
The existing concrete curbing around islands will be removed to allow water to sheet flow into the
gardens.
