Job title: Global Education Trainer Salary: £ 20,652 (Scale 5 pt 24, NJC Pay Scales) Location: Northern Ireland Tides Training is an ethically based Voluntary non profit company. It is committed to helping build the community infrastructure necessary to sustain a lasting and equitable peace in situations which have experienced violent conflict. We are currently looking for a Global Education Trainer. The position is required to report to Assistant Director and to support the Assistant Director in the development and co-ordination of all community training/education programmes connected to Global Education. Other duties and responsibilities include: 1. Organise social and educational activities in youth groups and local community centres. 2. Work with community groups to find solutions to shared concerns or problems. 3. Deliver training programmes and advise individuals with particular needs or problems through informal discussion, one on one mentoring or formal group discussion. 4. To support the Assistant Director in the administration of accredited training programmes. Liaise and supports the whole team and ensure the smooth running of training programmes within community groups. 5. To work closely with the Assistant Director to ensure the global dimension is incorporated efficiently and effectively to existing TIDES training programs. This includes quarterly and ongoing reporting to the Assistant Director. 6. To develop and maintain effective working partnerships with other relevant community organisations in order to build capacity to address shared concerns and global education awareness. 7. In partnership with the Assistant Director and other TIDES staff, to deliver other TIDES training programmes to the community with particular reference to the ongoing development of Global Education, Active Citizenship, Adult, Young Adult, Diversity and Conflict Management. 8. To provide reports, as appropriate, to support the monitoring and evaluation of our programmes. 9. To attend any meeting of the Board of Management and provide reports as requested. The ideal candidate must be educated to degree level with proven experience of the principles and application of Global Education. You must also have: 1. Proven knowledge of the National Curriculum and informal educational systems; 2. Good writing and presentation skills 3. Minimum one year experience in working in development projects overseas with a special emphasis on youth and community education and cultural preservation. 4. Proven ability to develop appropriate partnerships with global/development education agencies. 5. Proven ability in design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes in both formal and informal settings within Northern Ireland. 6. A proven ability to be able to work in a team structure while being able to also work independently under your own initiative 7. Ability to work unsociable hours (some of the training programmes will be evening or weekends) 8. A clear commitment to work within the principles and ethos of TIDES Training.
