2) Minutes of Last Meeting
- Minutes from AGM meeting dated Wednesday 9th October 2013 were read and signed as an
accurate record. .

8) Matters Arising
a) To tempt more people in to coming to meetings or offering their help, will have a PTA social coffee
morning on Tuesday 16th September 9am-10.30am.
- SP to buy pastries/croissants etc. and orange juice.
- AL to send out letter/leaflet.
- PMN – A few people turned up on the morning and hopefully enjoyed a drink/food and a chat. Have
had some offers of help for various things and ideas for forthcoming events.
b) Children’s Christmas Meal – SP has kindly offered to take over arranging this event for 2014.
c) SL has kindly offered to take on the job of phoning/writing to people for donations of raffle/auction
prizes.

9) Fundraising/Forthcoming Events:
a) Harvest Auction – Friday 3rd October
- Will do harvest Supper and family quiz and auction off some home grown/ homemade produce/fresh
flowers/homemade cakes at the end of the evening. Alongside the quiz will be a colouring competition
for the younger children.
- SN has offered to get the food we need for the night.
- SA has offered to get wine for the evening (5 red & 5 white). Donations bowl to be out for drinks on
the night.
- Have cans and some bottles of soft drinks left over from end of term BBQ, so will sell these on the
night.
- PMN – Ron Sinclair (RS) has offered to make the soup (2 types of vegetable soup).
- PMN – The food was good, everyone enjoyed themselves and we have had lots of positive comments.
b) Beetle Drive – Friday 14th November?
- Postponed until after Christmas as there is already quite a bit going on this term and it will be
a nice social event post-Christmas.
c) Bag2School - Tuesday 11th November – All booked and bags will be sent out to parents once they
have arrived at school.
d) Bag Packing – AL to write to Tesco (Shepton Mallet) and Sainsbury’s (Street) to see if we can do
arrange a session.
e) Castle Cary Coffee Morning – Saturday 29th November
- Will plan in depth at next meeting.
- AL to ask Jenny Simmonds if she is prepared to do the bacon butties as per usual. PMN –
Booked.
- AL to look in to the children designing Christmas cards to sell in school and at the Coffee
Morning.

10) Any Other Business
- CM is going to do an Anniversary school CD.
- To consider taking a group of children to do Carol singing at Street or other venue and have a
donation bucket for the school.
- CM to see if Lovington can take part in their Christmas Carol Service this year as part of our
Anniversary celebrations.
- PMN - Felting of storage sheds – SN had found felting 10m x 1m roll for £22.63 per roll to re-felt
Class 1 shed and both play houses. Would need approx. 5 rolls. We may have a found a source
for free felting (TBC).
- PMN – SA has offered to order the bean bags for the after school club. These have now arrived
and are very popular.
- To consider having a car boot sale at school sometime.
11) Date of Next Meeting To be confirmed. PMN – Wednesday 15th October, 7.30pm at The Cross Keys
Pub, East Lydford.
