AN INVITATION TO VACATION ON THE OUTER BANKS
During all seasons of the year, but especially from April through
October the Barrier Islands of North Carolina offer many varied
activities assured to bring pleasure and enjoyment for all those who
visit. The area offers fishing, golf, history, marine observations,
and gourmet dining, in addition to the traditional sun and sand of the
beaches. Welcome to the Outer Banks.
I am pleased to offer my cottages for rental for all those who wish to
experience the relaxation available on the Outer Banks. Both cottages
are conveniently located in Kill Devil Hills (approximately milepost
5-1/2) in the Seavillage subdivision between the beach road and the
by-pass. Cottage#1 has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 10 (2 queens, 2
sets of twins, 2 rollaway beds and a sleep sofa), cathedral ceiling,
deck with an ocean view, short walk to the beach (1 block), air
conditioned, carpeted, CATV hook-up with color TV, picnic table,
grill, outside enclosed shower, paved driveway, beach chairs, vacuum
cleaner, toaster, electric coffee pot, blender, microwave,
washer/dryer and telephone. Cottage#2 has 3 bedrooms, 1-1/2 baths,
sleeps 6 (queens, full and a 2 set of twins, cathedral ceiling,
covered porch with a perch on the roof with an ocean view, short walk
to the beach (1 block), central air conditioned, carpeted, CATV hookup with color TV, picnic table, grill, outside enclosed shower with
hot/cold water, paved driveway, beach chairs, vacuum cleaner, toaster,
electric coffee pot, blender, microwave, washer/dryer and telephone.

PRIME SEASON RATES - $900 PER WEEK - SUNDAY TO SUNDAY - from mid June,
July, August, and through Labor Day week. $50.00 additional charge for
over 8 persons (over 12 years of age) occupying cottage.
SPRING/FALL RATES - $500 PER WEEK - SUNDAY TO SUNDAY Spring - April
through mid June Fall - September through November $50.00 additional
charge for over 8 persons (over 12 years of age) occupying cottage.
WEEKEND/PARTIAL WEEK RATES (during Spring/Fall only) $300 PER WEEKEND
- FRIDAY and SATURDAY NIGHTS Friday check-in with Sunday check-out
Additional days are $50, partial weeks are pro-rated, and mid-week
rentals are available $50.00 additional charge for over 8 persons
(over 12 years of age) occupying cottage.
RESERVATIONS - A deposit of $500 for each reserved week ($300 for offseason weeks & $100 for weekends) is required at the time of
reservation. The deposit must be received within 7 DAYS of verbal
commitment or the reservation is canceled. The balance of the rent
(along with a $100 refundable damage deposit is DUE two (2) weeks
prior to reservation week. The keys will be mailed, delivered or may
be picked-up. (IN CASE OF CANCELLATION, NO REFUND WILL BE MADE UNLESS
THE COTTAGE IS RENTED THIS PERIOD.) Damage deposits are returned in 7
to 10 days after keys are returned.
SPECIAL NOTE - Irresponsible activities resulting in cottage damage or
violations of occupancy limits (without approval) will result in
IMMEDIATE EVICTION AND LOSS OF ALL RENTAL FEES.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
CHECK-IN TIME: Sunday 5:00pm CHECK-OUT TIME: Sunday 12:00 noon
The cottage must be vacated at 12:00 noon and vehicles should be
parked on the cul-de-sac if you plan to remain on the beach for
the day. If plan to leave prior to the checkout date, please
notify the owner. Absolutely no check-in prior to 3pm, even if
prior renters have checked-out. This allows for additional
cleaning requirements to be accomplished. Exception by permission
only.
The cottage is rented through the owner, resulting in a slight
reduction in typical rental fees. The cottage as if rented
through an agency must be vacated with a degree of REASONABLE
cleanliness when you leave. Empty all trash in the large trash
can outside. Wash and store all kitchen utensils. The cottage
should be vacuumed completely. The bathrooms should be cleaned
thoroughly. The refrigerator should be emptied and wiped clean
inside. The grill must be cleaned and charcoals disposed (not on
the ground). All lights, heat and air conditioners should be
turned OFF. Cleaning supplies, dish detergent, laundry detergent
and equipment is stored in the kitchen closet. The damage deposit
will be RETAINED if satisfactory cleanliness is not accomplished.
If the cottage is not satisfactory when arriving, please call the
owner IMMEDIATELY. For maid/clean-up services, see bulletin board
or phone book yellow pages.
ABSOLUTELY NO PETS of any kind are allowed. The locked closet is
the owner's locker and should remain locked. No long distance
phone calls may be charged to the cottage. The damage deposit
will be retained for calls charged to the cottage.
EMERGENCIES - plumbing, electrical, air conditioner failure, or
damage/broken equipment, CALL THE OWNER immediately at 804-2886874 (H) or 804-771-3557 (O). Leave a message. Do not wait to
check-out to report a problem.
Pillow, blankets, (please do not use on beach), all kitchenware
and laundry supplies are furnished. You need to provide your own
bed linens and towels.
Consult the cottage bulletin board for local emergency
information, services available (babysitting, worship, dining,
health/first aid, police/fire) and general information.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR COTTAGE #1: The lower level of the cottage is
NOT RENTED as a duplex, but on limited occasions, the owner,
family or friends of the owner may be occupying the lower level.
This would normally only be on weekends. The lower level is
designed to minimize infringement on the upper level occupants
during these limited situations. If a concern exists or a problem
is encountered, please notify the owner.
