REGULATIONS
WORLD SPORT AND COMBAT SAMBO CHAMPIONSHIP
AMONG ADULTS
13-17 November, 2008, Saint-Petersburg (Russia)
1.
General conditions
1.1
Championships are held according to the Rules of Sambo currently in force and
Regulations of FIAS.
1.2
Championships are organized and held by International Federation of Amateur Sambo-
Wrestling (FIAS), Rossport, Sports Committee affiliated to Saint-Petersburg Government and All-Russian Sambo Federation.
1.3
Championships are held to popularize and develop sambo-wrestling, to consolidate the
International sports contacts and celebrate the 70-th anniversary of sambo official recognition.
2.
Date and Place
2.1 Competitions will take place from 13 to 17 November, 2008 in the city of Saint-
Petersburg, Russia, in sport complex “Yubileiny” (18 Dobrolubova st.).
3.
Participation terms
3.1
The
right to participate is granted to athletes-members of national teams whose home country National Sambo Federation is affiliated to FIAS and paid FIAS annual fee.
Participants are allowed to compete only with FIAS license book with 2008 annual fee payment note (license costs– US $25).
3.2 Every sports delegation should include:
 Men – 9 athletes
 Women – 9 athletes
 Men (combat sambo) – 9 athletes
 1 manager
 2 coaches
 1 doctor
Total: 31 members
3.3 The applications for participation should be sent to All-Russian Sambo Federation till latest
September 1 st , 2008 (find attached the application form). Each application must have the information about the number of participants.
3.4 Participants’ check-roll must be sent to All-Russian Sambo Federation till latest September

20 th , 2008. It must include the following information about the participants: full name, date of birth, passport number, employment (company and position), address, date of arrival and departure. Copies of passports must be adjusted.
4.
Technical terms of Championships
:
4.1 Weight categories:
Sport sambo (men): 52 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 74 kg, 82 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, +100 kg
Sport sambo (women): 48 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg, 64 kg, 68 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Combat sambo: 52 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 74 kg, 82 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, +100 kg
4.2
Competitions are held according to the FIAS Rules
4.3 Each sportsman must have medical examination before leaving the home country for the competitions. The results have to be marked in the fighter’s license.
4.4
The Organizing Committee guarantees first aid to all members of sport delegations.
4.5 Team places are given according to the points collected in the individual classification.
4.6 Individual championships are held in groups according to the system of eliminations and repercharges.
4.7
All participants, coaches, referees, and representatives must have medical insurance.
4.8
The international category referees are allowed to umpire according to the FIAS official invitation.
4.9
All delegations should have a cassette/CD with the National anthem and a National flag.
5 .
Awarding of winners
5.1 Sportsmen who won first
three prize places in individual championship will be awarded with medals, diploma and valuable prizes.
5.2 Teams who won first
three prize places will be awarded with diploma and cups.
5.3 All the participants are rewarded with valuable gifts.
6. Official Ceremonies
6.1
Participants will take part in the official ceremonies of World Championship.
6.2
National anthems and rising of National flags ceremonies are performed in the honor of the winners.
7. Financial terms
7.1 From November 13 th to November 17 th 2008, the FIAS President, Secretary General and
20 World Championship referees receive meals and accommodation at the expense of the
Organizing Committee.
7.2 Each member of the delegations must pay to the Organizing Committee participation fee counting US $75 per person per day.
7.3 The Organizing Committee provides members of the delegations with the transfer airporthotel-place of the competition and back (transport fee is 10 euro).
7.4 Managers of sport delegations have to fulfill all financial obligations with Organizing
Committee on the arriving day and carry out all accreditation demands.
8. Accommodations, meals, and transfer
8.1 All the participants will be lodged in the hotels of Saint-Petersburg.
8.2 All the participants will be served with meals 3 times a day.

9. Miscellaneous
9.1 All the participants will be provided with visa support necessary
for obtaining visas in Embassies and Consulates General of Russia.
9.2 Current correspondence connected with the World Championship should be forwarded to
All-Russian Sambo Federation.
