5. Reflection: Based on these surveys, which theory of motivation is the most powerful in your life?
Provide 3 specific examples from the surveys to support your answers. Reflection should be 1-2
pages long in NOTES.
HW: Read 11.2, 11.2.1, and 11.2.2 of eBook and take notes.

2. PsychQuest: How do we control how much we eat? (Top of pg. 524)
3. HW: Read the articles “Body Weight Regulated by Newly Discovered Hormone” (pgs. 524-534)
and “The Science of Appetite” (pp. 345-352). Take notes on the 10 most significant/interesting
points in your notebook and include a 1-2 sentence analysis on how the point changes your
understanding of hunger.

Day 3:
1. Review PsychSim and PsychQuest
2. Complete hunger section of motivation chart (pgs 536-537), using specific evidence from the
Psychsim, Psychquest, textbook and articles
a. Articles Environmental factors in Eating and Taste Preferences-Learned and Genetic.” (pgs.534-535)
3. HW: Read 11.2.3 of eBook and take notes. In addition, read the article “Through a Glass,
Darkly” (pgs. 352-354) and take notes on the 5 most significant/interesting points in your
notebook. Include a 1-2 sentence analysis on why the point is significant/interesting.

1. Review Hunger Drives and Debate Modern Issues of American Eating
2. HW: Read sections 11.3, 11.4 and 11.5 of eBook and take notes.
3. Complete Surveys & “ Will to Win” article on pgs 541-548 on Needs, Affiliation, and Fear of
Negative Evaluations
Day 5:
Review Surveys and Finish Motivation Unit
A. Intro To Emotion F/F (pp. 550)
1. Lab: Handout 13-2: Facial Expression & Emotion Data (pp. 551)
2. H.W. Read sections 12.1 and 12.2 of eBook and take notes
Day 6:
1. Complete PsychSims: Expressing Emotion (pgs 552-553) + Catching Liars (pgs.570-571)
2. HW: Read sections 12.3 and 12.4 of eBook and take notes.
3. Complete ALL Emotion Surveys: 12-7, 12-15, 12-16 (pgs. 558-566)
Day 7:
1. Finish PowerPoint Lecture: Theories of Emotion: In Class Notes
2. Watch the video “The Human Face” and answer question (pgs.556-557)
3. HW: Read articles “The Biology of Joy” (pgs. 567-569) and take notes on the 5 most
important/significant points in notebook. Include a 1-2 sentence analysis on why the point is
important/significant.
Day 8:
1. Finish “The Human Face”
2. Finish Emotion Unit
3. Review for Test/Catch UP
