Petition for Amended Requirements or Additional Contracts to Complete the Honors Program This form is used to request an amended set of requirements to complete the Honors Program. While there are no majors excluded from this process, this petition is primarily designed for students in majors that do not offer upper-level elective space in which Honors courses can be taken. This form must be completely filled out, as it asks you to provide: Your reasons for requesting amended program requirements or additional contracts A semester-by-semester overview of your remaining coursework required for graduation (please note: if your required coursework adds up to fewer than 15 credits each semester we will want to know why you cannot take an Honors elective) An overview of the Honors courses you have taken and when (to demonstrate due diligence along the way to complete Honors Program requirements) A brief letter of support from a faculty member that knows you and can vouch for your academic performance in previous coursework. If applicable, this letter can focus on extracurriculars you’ve been involved in that enhance your education but may limit your participation in the Honors Program. Your plan to complete your Honors Program requirements (e.g. extra contracts, extra graduate courses, special projects) This form must be submitted to the Honors office (Tuttleman 204) by the end of your junior year at Temple (or just before your second-to-last semester). Please note: it can be submitted later than this, but it cannot be submitted earlier unless special approval is received. After review by the Honors staff, you will be notified whether or not your petition has been approved and what remaining Honors requirements, if any, you will be responsible for, as well as how you can meet them.
