Mr. Kyoichi Tanada, President of Toyota Motor Thailand, and Mr. Shinichi Yasui, Head of
Engineering, Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan, joined together to launch a press conference
introducing all-new “Corolla ALTIS” on 14 January 2014 at BITEC Bangna
Toyota Motor Thailand introduced the first generation of a passenger car called “Corolla”
to Thai market for the first time in 1966 and the second generation in 1970. Back then, they were
manufactured out of the factory from Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan. With the third generation in
1974 brought its first domestic corolla manufacturing in Samrong, Samutprakarn Province. It is
perceived as one of the most significant models of Toyota in Thailand as it is widely regarded by
customers as “Thai’s favorite passenger car.” In 2001, a major development on the 9th generation
took place; there was a transformation of “Corolla” from a small passenger car to an upper-class
small passenger car that came with luxury, worthiness and perfection from head to toes. This
model was manufactured at the second Toyota assembling factory in Thailand which is located at
the Gateway City Industrial Estate, Chachoengsao Province, and was named “Corolla ALTIS”
2008 brought about a development of the 10th generation of “Corolla” with a standard
enhancement of an upper-class small passenger car. For the past 48 years that “Corolla” has been
introduced to Thailand, it has been able to maintain its popularity as Thai’s most popular
passenger car, has achieved the number 1 status with an accumulated sale number of 670,000
cars and played a crucial role in driving Toyota to remain the number one manufacturer in
passenger cars until present.
The 11th generation of “All-New Corolla ALTIS…So Excited” is redesigned thoroughly from
front to back to be sporty, cutting-edge and catch the eyes on the exterior. It was designed in
accordance with an aerodynamic basis to increase agility and driving pleasure. For interior, it
offers a large passenger space and a larger cargo space. The positions of passenger seats,
wheels and other equipment are placed to give sporty feel. This 4-cylinder DOHC Dual VVT-i
comes in various choices of 1,800cc / 1,600cc and 1,600cc CNG and a super CVT-i automatic
transmission that is readjusted to increase the sporty pleasure of driving, superior performance
and fuel efficiency. The underbody is also re-adjusted for softer driving experience and suspension
improvement. Its brake system is fast and accurate and comes with the perfect global safety
standard.
Mr. Kyoichi Tanada, President of Toyota Motor Thailand, stated that “The new Corolla

the hearts of Thai and foreign customers with great dignity.

Corolla ALTIS that is redesigned to standout with sporty and eye-catching design along with
excellent and perfect driving performance which are the unique feature and quality that people
all around the world see in all Corolla models.”
Mr. Shinichi Yasui, Chief of Engineering, Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan, revealed that,
“Toyota engineering team has created the all-new Toyota ALTIS with an inspiration from the idea
of *WAKU DOKI* (In Japanese, it means “the heart beats when excited and having fun”),
exceeding customer’s expectation. The exterior is thoroughly redesigned to be more modern and
sporty while the interior is decorated by high-quality materials, fully equipped with utilities, which
compliments it grandeur and majesty. The length of wheelbase is increased to make the
passenger room larger and more comfortable. A super CVT-i automatic transmission is improved,
and when working with Dual VVT-i machine, it makes the driving performance excellent and
perfect. Moreover, the aerodynamic design, the newly-adjusted underbody and the lighter weight
helps to improve the agility and the fuel efficiency which exceeds standard are the features that
lead us to believe that the all-new Corolla Altis will respond to every need of customers. When
they get to touch the all-new Corolla ALTIS, they will be surged with the pride of being an owner
and pleased with the quality which is the long unique character of Corolla. I am very confident

nutshell as “All New Corolla ALTIS…So Excited” in which will fully advertise to customers from
today onwards. The sale target is 4,000 vehicles per month and they will be launched officially in
Toyota showrooms throughout the country in 18-19 January. Roadshows will take place in many
different provinces for customers to test-drive our prepared test-drive cars and have driving
experiences thoroughly. This all new Corolla Altis comes in 8 models and 6 colors with a starting
price at only 769,000 baht which is a very valued price.”

Exterior…Entirely new design, sporty, modern and eye-catching
It is redesigned in all of its perspectives in accordance with an aerodynamics basis. The
dimension of the body is wider while the height is lower. It is designed with dynamic sporty look. A
new design is added to the front grill to connect to the bumper with the new unique trapezoid line.
The exterior reflects modernity and perception in every detail with harmonious lines all around the
car from top to bottoms. New designs of LED Projector headlamps with Day-time running light and
LED Surface illumination rear lamps are lean and strong. Lastly added to the group is the newly
designed 16 inches alloy wheels that look sporty from every angle. Meshed together, they make a

Interior…Spacious and comfortable for all usage
The interior of the passenger cabin is designed for spaciousness and ultimate comfort by
extending the length of the wheels to 2,700 mm (100 mm longer) which increases the length of the
passenger room to equal 4,629 mm (80 mm longer) and the width to equal 1,775 mm (15 mm
wider). The front / rear seat couple distance has been increased to 960 mm (75 mm longer) in
which the space for the back passengers is wider and more comfortable. Three choices of colors
for the interior room are offered: black, beige and grey that provide sporty feeling, elegance and
dignity. Utilities inside are newly designed and filled with quality, apart from being luxurious and
modern. They are positioned to suit the driver’s usage such as the soft fabric cyber carbon console,
new wheel design, sporty gauge, new air-conditioner design with automatic air-conditioning
system, as well as other equipped utilities.

High performance, control every move accurately
The all-new Corolla ALTIS’ driving performance comes from the Dual VVT-i system or the
Variable Valve Timing with intelligence which controls the timing of the engine’s intake and exhaust
manifolds resulting in the maximum efficiency of the engine with great acceleration, fuel efficiency
and emission reduction that passed Euro-4 emission standard. All working harmoniously together
with improved Super CVT-I 7 speed automatic transmission ensuring seamless transmission
change, smooth acceleration, and low RPM even while accelerating, but increase the "sprint" when
changing gear so it feel more sporty. In regards to control and handling, the Electric Power
Steering (EPS) will automatically adjust the weight of the steering wheel to suit with every speed for
easy and precise handling, which also improved fuel efficiency.

Safety Standard
- GOA body provides world class safety standard with high-strength passenger cabin and impactabsorbing body to help absorbing the impact from the collision.
- Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) prevents the vehicle from slipping while cornering. The sensor will
identify vehicle movement and automatically adjust the vehicle stability.
- Traction Control System (TRC) helps control wheel slippage and will pushed brake fluid to each
wheel to control vehicle's stability. If the vehicle continues to slip, vehicle's speed will be reduced
automatically to help control vehicle balance on slippery surfaces.
- Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) will prevent the wheel from locking in case of emergency brake or
on slippery surfaces.
- Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) helps maintain balanced braking pressure via brake
fluid between each wheel in order to achieve best stopping performance even while making a turn
and establish optimal vehicle controllability
- Brake Assist (BA) supports unexpected braking in case of emergency, to stop the vehicle in
shorter distance.
- Front Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Airbag help reduce the head and chest injuries of the
front-seat passenger and driver from frontal collision.
- Front Seatbelt with Pretension and Force Limiter help restraining driver's and passenger's body to
the seat in a collision, and reduce risk of injuries from the seatbelt impact on the chest.
- Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) Concept Seat helps reduce risk of whiplash neck injuries in rearend collision.
- Immobilizer key prevents key copying and immobilizes the engine if the key-code and enginecode do not match.
- Theft Deterrent System (TDS) sounds the alarm in case of an intrusion.
