A Theoretical Analysis of the Latin American Unbalanced Development of
Economy and Society

Unbalanced development of economy and society in Latin America is to a large degree caused by
its theory deficiency. Some of its development theories cannot make expected effect due to their
shortcomings and some fail to adapt efficiently themselves to the new situations. Therefore those
from the US and other developed countries have occupied a dominant position in the region for a
long period of time, guiding its economic and social development. As a result of failure to
combine development theories with its practice and to foster a well-founded development idea,
Latin America is forced to face an increasingly aggravated unbalance between economy and
society.
