IN THE ORTHODOX MEMORIAL PARK ST. ARCHANGEL MICHAEL
INTERNAL REGULATIONS
FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND OPERATION OF THE PRIVATE ORTHODOX MEMORIAL PARK ST.
ARCHANGEL MICHAEL AND ST. ARCHANGEL MICHAEL CHURCH
SECTION I
SUBJECT
Art. 1. These Internal Rules and Regulations govern the organization and operation of St. Archangel
Michael Orthodox Memorial Park and St. Archangel Michael Orthodox Church (hereinafter referred
to as the Internal Rules) and are applicable to all renters of cemetery property in the Park, as well as
to the visitors of the Memorial Park and the Orthodox Church.
SECTION II
VISITING HOURS
Art. 2.(1). The Memorial Park is open to visitors throughout the whole year, including weekends and
holidays.
(2). The family members and relatives of the individuals entitled to burial rights in the Memorial
Park can visit the Park every day from 8.00 to 20.00. The administrative office of the Park is open
from 9.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday and from 10.00 to 14.00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Art. 3. The above visiting hours are to be observed by all renters and visitors and exceptions are only
allowed with the explicit written approval of Boyana Park Sofia EAD (hereinafter named Boyana
Park).
SECTION III
OBLIGATIONS OF THE RENTERS OF CEMETERY PROPERTY/ URN NICHES AND THE VISITORS OF THE
MEMORIAL PARK
Art. 4.(1). Loud talking is forbidden on the territory of the Memorial Park and the Orthodox Church.
(2). Visits to the Memorial Park outside the visiting hours are not allowed.
(3). Smoking on the territory of the Memorial Park is only permitted in the designated areas.
Art. 5. The following is strictly forbidden on the territory of the Memorial Park:
1. visits of individuals under 14 years of age unaccompanied by an adult;
2. dogs, pets and other animals (animal drawn vehicles);
3. lighting fire and burning litter;
4. commercial activities and services provided to visitors on the territory of the Memorial Park and
the Orthodox Church, with the exception of:
а/ activities and services provided by Boyana Park or by other persons authorized by Boyana Park on
the territory of the Memorial Park, as well as activities and services provided by the Church Board in
the Orthodox Church;
b/ sale of religious objects in the ritual hall and/ or the Orthodox Church by employees of Boyana
Park and/ or the Church Board.
5. planting of tall decorative or fruit trees or any other type of tree and/ or bushes in the plots and
the burial places;
6. tree cutting;
7. installing of benches, tables and fences on the plots and the use of any type of ground covering
material in the alleys and areas between the spaces without the prior consent of Boyana Park;
8. other activities which may damage the vertical planning of the Memorial Park.
Art. 6.(1). Access of motor vehicles on the territory of the Memorial Park is allowed only up to the
designated parking lot. It is strictly forbidden for motor vehicles to enter the alleys of the Memorial
Park outside the areas defined by Boyana Park and the Church Board.
(2). Access to the servicing premises on the territory of the Memorial Park, including the chambers
and the facilities for preservation of the deceased individuals, is granted only to the persons
authorized by Boyana Park or the funeral agencies performing funeral services.
Art. 7. It is forbidden to throw out food, litter, and withered flowers outside the designated areas,
and to put obituaries, posters, advertisements, notifications, etc., except when obituaries are placed
on the board serving for that specific purpose, located at the entrance of the Memorial Park.
Art. 8.(1). Renters of cemetery property have the obligation to maintain in good conditions the
permanent memorial signs placed in the burial spaces.
(2). Maintenance and park management activities and the services provided on the territory of the
Memorial Park, described in full detail in the price list of services, are performed exclusively by
Boyana Park through the persons contracted for these activities.
(3). It is forbidden to mix concrete and perform activities which are damaging to the Memorial Park
infrastructure (alleys, fences, water and sewer pipes, lighting).
(4). It is forbidden for third parties to perform construction activities on the territory of the
Memorial Park without authorization from Boyana Park.
Art. 9.(1). A temporary memorial sign which is damaged or in poor condition should be removed
within 3 months by the renters of the burial spaces; otherwise, the sign will be removed by Boyana
Park at the expense of the Renter.
(2). Monuments and other permanent memorial signs which have been abandoned, damaged,
poorly maintained or have been constructed in breach of the individual rental agreements should be
removed by the Renters following instructions by Boyana Park.
Art. 10. If a Renter has been authorized according to the individual rental agreement to use external
suppliers for the services provided by Boyana Park, the external suppliers should also adhere strictly
to the rules for access to the Memorial Park, preserve the property, infrastructure and the memorial
signs on the spaces adjacent to the area in which the services are carried out.
SECTION IV
SPECIAL RULES OF CONDUCT AT THE ORTHODOX CHURCH
Art. 11.(1). Talking on mobile phones on the territory of St. Archangel Michael Orthodox Church is
strictly forbidden. All visitors to the Church are obliged to switch their mobile phones to silent mode
before entering the Church.
(2). Visitors to the Church should wear decent clothing and appear sober.
Art. 12.(1). No pets or other animals are allowed on the territory of the Orthodox Church.
(2). No visitors in motor vehicles are allowed on the territory of the Orthodox Church.
Art. 13. Should the clergy servicing the Church consider that visitors:
1. are apparently not sober;
2. wear indecent clothing;
3. talk on mobile phones;
4. use inappropriate tone and voice in the Church;
5. in any other way disturb the other visitors in the Church;
6. breach other articles of the Internal Rules and Regulations regarding the Church,
they have the right to invite those visitors to leave the Church and to ban their access to the
Church’s premises.
These Internal Rules are drafted and approved by the owner of St. Archangel Michael Orthodox
Memorial Park – Boyana Park Sofia EAD, and by St. Archangel Michael Orthodox Church Board.
