February 2015 Meeting Schedule b. February 17th at 3:30 pm; meeting with the Provost c. February 19th meeting has moved to 9:30 am d. February 26st meeting is tentative pending comments based on electronic votes for last minute curriculum items. 35. Program Reviews with APRC 2 e. GC and APRC members join to review the programs based on department within the College of Education. APRC members will be in contact to start the review process. 36. Graduate Student nominations are open for the spring 2015 semester. 37. Marketing and branding plan for the Graduate School with University Relations. f. A meeting has been scheduled to visit with Robin Krause to discuss the look and feel of the Graduate School. 38. Faculty/Student research and/or scholarship event g. Complete support for a research recognition event. Many different conversations ensued about how the event could be structured, but the consensus was that a research event is needed at UCM for students (undergraduate and graduate) as well as faculty. 39. Philosophy statement to accompany the Graduate School mission statement. h. Faculty Senate Executive Committee suggested that the Graduate Council develop and adopt a philosophy statement to go along with the mission statement. The goal of the philosophy statement would be to delineate how we plan to carry out the various aspects of the mission statement. i. Research Mission Statement for UCM i. The approved mission statement will be included in the Graduate Catalog. IV. Comments from the Director 40. Additional International Admissions Specialist position j. The Graduate School received permission to hire another International Admissions Specialist. Currently, Tina and Shellie are in the interview stage of the hiring process. 41. Graduate Editorial and Information Services Coordinator position description update. k. The position descript has been submitted to the Human Resources office for review and grading. 42. International Admissions deadlines l. Admissions deadlines will no longer be considered priority, international students will not have the opportunity to apply after the deadline has pasted. 43. Graduate Faculty Assembly meeting has been scheduled for April 21st at 3:30 pm. formal announcement to follow. 3
