Best practices of teaching hydrobiology at school

advertisement
Dear Teacher, do you wish to learn more about teaching hydrobiology
at school and/or share your best experiences with others? The Gulf of
Finland Year 2014 inspired us to invite teachers from Estonia, Finland,
Russia and other countries to learn from each others.
We also have a possibility to participate in the program of a Russian
nature school in the same place. In addition we shall take a trip to
Saint Petersburg Water Museum and the environmental education
centers of Krestovski Island and Vodokanal.
The working language of the camp is English but since we are
concentrating in the practical work, the best way of communicating
is by showing, what you do with your pupils. Nevertheless be
prepared to bring your own equipment with you. Also a short
illustrated description of your ideas is appreciated.
The program is free of charge, but food and accommodation cost
about 160 € and travel from Helsinki about 140 €. The camp is about
50 minutes away from Saint Petersburg (towards Vyborg) by a local train (5 €). The visa costs are
about 80 €, but we can get them cheaper if we apply early enough.
More detailed instructions for travelling, visas etc. will be later available to all of the participants.
This is arranged by ”Interregional Ecological Club of Post-Graduates,
Students and School children of the Baltic-Ladoga Region” and “Association of Biology and Geography Teachers in Finland” together with
University of Helsinki, Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education.
Registration for the course preferrably before 30th of May 2015:
