Fill out the bottom half of this form, including teacher recommendations. 4. Read and sign the ASB Agreement. Your parents must sign this, too. 5. Fill out the “Petition for Office.” 6. Obtain the signatures for the “Signature Sheet.” 7. Attach a copy of your most recent progress report/report card. Return completed packet no later than March 14 – turn it to 405 at lunch. You have responsibilities and duties as a part of your ASB position. While in ASB, you will be expected to meet the following standards and expectations. Failure to comply will result in consequences ranging from lowered citizenship and/or academic grades, to removal from the ASB class and loss of the position. In addition to fulfilling the duties specific to your job, you will: 1. Enroll in the 4th period ASB class. 2. Keep your grades at a 3.0 or higher (scholarship and citizenship), with no “F” or “U” grades, for all grading periods. 3. Dress up for all Spirit Days, and dress up every Friday, wearing either class colors or PLHS colors. Also, you will need to wear your ASB nametag on these days. 4. Give up at least two lunches a week to work in the ASB stores and/or help with ASB-related activities. 5. Be respectful and productive during ASB meetings and discussions. 6. Be prepared to commit time during the summer, as well as before and after school, to work on ASB planning and activities. 7. Make, hang, and/or remove posters on a daily basis. 8. Keep a weekly log of your activities in ASB, to be turned in at the end of every grading period. 9. Make sure that your job gets done – delegate as needed. 10. Take initiative – if something needs to be done, help out to get it done – even if it’s not your job. Eligibility Requirements In order to run: You must have at least a 3.0 in citizenship and scholarship on your most recent progress report. In addition, you may not have any “U” or “F” grades. Eligibility after you are elected: Grades and Citizenship: The above rules apply once you are elected. Your spring report card must meet these requirements, and you must maintain these requirements throughout the duration of your time in ASB. 4th period class: You must agree to be enrolled in the 4th period ASB class, or you will be replaced. Truancies, Referrals, and Suspensions: If you have any truancies, referrals, or suspensions, you may be relieved of your ASB position and be removed from the class.
