Graduate School Alumni Society (GSAS) Early Career Award Purpose Early career awards are presented to graduate alumni who have demonstrated exceptional success in their chosen field within the first 10 years after obtaining their graduate degree. Eligibility All graduate-level (master’s or doctorate degrees) alumni of Penn State who received their graduate degree in the 10 years preceding the deadline for nominations. Criterion Exceptional achievement and success early in one’s career and the potential to make a significant impact throughout one’s career. This can be demonstrated in a number of ways. Examples include but are not limited to demonstrated leadership, substantive contributions in one’s field, or national/international recognition for one’s contributions. Please note that the criterion is intentionally broadly defined, and we wish to solicit applications from graduates of all departments. Nomination Process/Timeline Nominations should be submitted by November 1. Nominations will be reviewed by a volunteer selection committee, and selections will be made by December 31. In order to receive the award, the recipient will be required to attend the annual GSAS Recognition Dinner to be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Nittany Lion Inn.
