Senior Pastor Position
Valley Worship Assembly (VWA)
Drayton Valley, Alberta
The Need:
Our church family is currently seeking the individual that the Lord is
directing and calling to become the Senior Pastor of Valley Worship
Assembly in Drayton Valley. This person will be asked to lead our
growing congregation into a building program and into the promising
future that we believe God has for us.
The Town of Drayton Valley:
Drayton Valley is a relatively prosperous oil town with little to no
unemployment. The official population, according to the 2011 census, is
slightly over 7,000. The seasonal work population adds an additional
4,000-5,000. The trading area population is estimated to be approximately
20,000.
The Church:
Valley Worship Assembly was established just over 7 years ago as a
PAOC congregation desiring to serve and reach the dynamic town of
Drayton Valley. The church currently has a voting membership of 41 and
an average attendance of 77 and operates with a 5 person Church Board.
There is a Family Ministries Pastor on staff and the church operates a
downtown youth outreach ministry called the “Well”. For the last seven
years the church has met for services in the West Wind Hotel, but has
recently purchased land in a strategic part of town for new facilities. A
Building Committee is in place and presently working to develop plans for
our new building. VWA has been strong financially throughout its history
and presently carries no debt.
