Early Intervention Services may include Our Preschool Early Intervention Program and Services are provided to eligible young children in Centre, Clearfield and Clinton County who are between the ages of 3 years old and the age of beginners in the school district of residence. All early intervention services are family focused and provided at no cost to children with special needs and their families. The CIU#10 Preschool Early Intervention Program offers free screenings which may help determine if the child is demonstrating age appropriate development in the areas of cognitive, speech/language, motor, self-help and social skills. Screenings are always confidential and reviewed with the parents. Parents and Preschool EI staff decide together if a child should be further evaluated by a multidisciplinary team to determine the child’s eligibility for services. If a child qualifies for Early Intervention services, the team will make recommendations identifying programs and services to meet the child’s needs.
