FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Gulf Hydrocarbon Partners and Newly Formed Akash Energy to Reopen Lone Star Terminal in North Houston for 24/7 Biodiesel Distribution (HOUSTON, TX) January 29, 2012 – Gulf Hydrocarbon Partners, Ltd. has partnered with Akash Energy Inc. to reopen the Lone Star Terminal in North Houston offering biodiesel and renewable diesel. The terminal is located at 17617 Aldine-Westfield Road near Bush Intercontinental Airport and supports 24/7 loading. “The terminal allows us to reach a broader spectrum of the Houston fuel distributor market. The truck rack services a variety of customers, from large commercial distributors to small fleets and retailers” said Justin Heller, President of Akash Energy. The launch of biodiesel at this terminal means retail stations and truck stops will now have easier access to biodiesel blends, opening the door to more public pumps in the area. The Lone Star terminal has a total capacity of 6.7 million gallons, of which Gulf Hydrocarbon has leased 420,000 gallons of storage for biodiesel. The facility allows bobtail trucks and transport trucks to add biodiesel fuel to their diesel fuel mix. At the Lone Star Terminal, the drivers preset an Accuload® meter for the requested volume, connect the Scully® overfill protection system and their hoses, and then flip a switch to start pumping the biodiesel. The terminal is always open and accessible through a card key system; and, the truck loading rack has a bay dedicated for biodiesel. All biodiesel at the Lone Star terminal meets the latest ASTM D6751 standards. “High volume biodiesel wholesalers and distributors are coming in during all hours of the night and loading to avoid traffic,” said Jess Hewitt, president of Gulf Hydrocarbon. “Our automated 24/7 infrastructure will make the difference in biodiesel being profitable for distributors.” The terminal will also improve availability for large fleet customers. Gulf Hydrocarbon’s logistics coordinator, Greg Reynolds, said “the demand for biodiesel from jobbers and distributors in the North Houston market has not been met – especially with regard to splash blending. We are hoping that the reopening of the Lone Star Terminal will make biodiesel practical again for these customers. We are also looking for strategic partners who can utilize existing storage for sales of regular diesel fuel to our biodiesel customers.” # # # About Gulf Hydrocarbon, Inc. Akash Energy, Inc. was founded in 2012 by Justin Heller, formerly of Suma Energy, Inc., where he established one of the first biodiesel truck racks in the San Francisco Bay area as well as a truck rack in Elizabeth, New Jersey. After leaving Suma in October, 2009 to pursue other opportunities in the renewable energy sector, he recently set out to reenter the distribution arena. While developing a business plan, Heller solicited the help of Anish Mashettiwar, a childhood friend who was operating an independent legal practice at the time. Mashettiwar agreed to join Heller in his efforts and, together, they founded Akash Energy, Inc., with the purpose of developing an efficient distribution infrastructure to provide reliable and consistent biodiesel supply to the end-user market.
