NEWSLETTER: DECEMBER 2015
Dear Families,
Welcome
Happy December! November was a busy month
and several productive activities took place at
Ocean Vista. Parents attended parent/teacher
conferences and shared their children’s educational
goals with their teacher. Family Luncheons were
held on November 20th, a large number of our
enthusiastic families attended the events. They had
a wonderful time eating delicious food, sharing
recipes and interacting with one another.
We are very pleased to inform you that we have two
new staff members in our program. Josie Gonzales,
who works with both classrooms and Batool
Hussain who works in classroom 2. Both staff
members are very professional and enthusiastic. We
welcome them to our Ocean Vista program.
During the holiday season we see beautiful
decorations at stores, malls and neighborhoods. The
children observe all the changes happening
throughout the year and they have a lot of questions.
Take this opportunity to expand your child’s
vocabulary and knowledge by talking to them about
different cultures, beliefs, holidays and celebrations.
Please remember when you are having a
conversation with young children to ask open ended
questions. Open ended questions are questions that
can not be answered by yes or no.
This time of the year we see excitement all around
us. It can affect children, their behavior and add
stress to parents. For these reasons, we would like
to provide you help. We’ve arranged a presentation
on December 10th with Ventura County Public
Health on “How to Handle Children’s Behavior
During the Holiday Season”. I hope you will be
able to attend.
