Department Profile:
1. The department is responsible for developing technical solution for the
railway passenger service system based on the company business requirements,
including system requirement analysis, design and implementation.
2. Responsible for company strategic planning and independent software
products development.
3. Responsible for providing technical support for company developed
software products.
China high-speed railway requires the passengers to use their real name to
purchase the tickets and the official ID needs to be checked at boarding, just
like the airline DCS system does but the process must be much easier and
faster as there are too many passengers on one train. One of the key issues is
how to quickly match the passenger’s face with the one showed on the photo
ID to figure out if it is the same person.
Work description:
Facial detecting and facial recognition technology is used in the passenger
boarding system to achieve above goals. These technologies can also help the
police and security department to detect and trace the wanted people.
The students will work on these projects and involve in the following tasks:
1) Research and study on facial detecting algorithm, fast image retrieving
algorithm, facial image quick comparing and matching algorithm, related
application development, etc.
2) Research and study the intelligent camera module with facial detecting
function.
3) Research on quickly retrieving information from massive images using
image recognition and retrieval technology.

4) Basic understanding on intelligent video processing, better with project
development experience.
