Meeting presided over and called to order at 17:40 by president Helen Sandkuhl Approval of Agenda Approved. Minute Approval Treasurer’s Report Presidents Report Helen Sandkuhl May meeting minutes unanimously approved by those in attendance. Treasurer’s report submitted by Joann Coogan & approved. Helen briefed the Chapter Delegates Helen, Joan Eberhardt, Joanne Coogan, Jan Kaminsky and Jeanne Fogarty. Delegate binders were distributed. Committee Reports A. Course Operations Helen Sandkuhl Chair The chapter classes: 1. August 20 & 21, 2014 Judy Marlow and Joan Eberhardt will be checking off 3 Instructor Candidates at a Barnes TNCC class. 2. August 23 & 24 the Chapter is hosting a 7th edition TNCC at Des Peres Hospital (24 participants scheduled). Helen, Joan, Judy, Lori Libby and Jeanne will be teaching. 3. November 15th chapter hosted ENPCI 4. November 16th chapter hosted TNCCI 5. November 22 & 23 chapter ran TNCC-P at Mt Vernon 6. December 13 & 14 TNCC-P chapter hosted to be held at Des Peres Hospital. ENPC vignettes no longer being used. All vignette information has been integrated in to the lectures and skill stations. Marketing Agenda Item Old Business Joan reported: 1. St. Louis Area Sexual Assault task force is hosting conference September 29th in St. Louis Area. Group from Rutger University CEs being offered. 2. Chapter will work towards getting Jeff Solheim in to do the first State Trauma Nursing Board Review class. The class is brand new and has not been offered anywhere. The Trauma Board exam is not available as of yet. Jean report that she has not received any newsletter items from anyone. Since she has not had any information, she will post a chapter update on the website. Joan report that JoAnn and her will review information. Pending posting of update on website. Carol reported nothing new See Jan Kaminski’s attached report Lori reported the Brain injury Association did a Bike helmet fitting. SLU and Mercy donated 100 helmets. See the attached report July report. 189 member in the Chapter, 739 in the State. Joan continues to work on potential items Discussion A. March of Dimes Awards Banquet Joan will report follow up at the September 9th meeting. B. The event will be August 31st in advance of the 13:15 Cardinal game at Busch Stadium. Members who are participating need to be at the Stadium by 13:15 on the 31st. Strike Out Stroke Joan to follow up with Jeff Solheim regarding getting him to come do the first Trauma review class in the St. Louis Area. Pending follow up by Joan Follow Up New Business Presidential Theme Kick-Off Party & Membership Drive: Follow up discussion at September meeting Next Meeting & Adjournment Helen suggested that since we did not do an awards banquet this year that we host cocktails and horderves at a specified location on Emergency Nurses Day in October and make it a membership drive. Ideas were discussed. It was learned that Emergency Nurses Day is during the convention this year so either an alternate date would have to be utilized or the function will have to be deferred to next year. Will discuss at the next meeting. In the meantime members are to investigate potential venues. Next meeting to be September 9th. Next meeting will be September 9th at 1730 at Des Peres Hospital.
