Car Travel Directions to Southeast Missouri State University River Campus & Main Campus to and from the Hotels USE THESE DIRECTIONS ALONG WITH THE MAPS YOU WILL FIND IN YOUR REGISTRATION PACKETS!!! DIRECT ROUTE to the Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts RIVER CAMPUS, where most conference events occur (3.5 miles from hotels): Take State Hwy K/William Street past the West Park Mall on your right (head away from I-55 towards the city) up and over the hill past Applebee’s (on your right) down to the traffic light at the intersection of Hwy K/William Street and Kingshighway (Routes 61 & 34). Continue straight through the light (which is now just William Street) another mile to the second traffic light at Sprigg Street. Keep going straight three more blocks to Fountain Street. Turn right onto the Fountain Street red brick road (not the yellow brick road but the red brick road). Travel two blocks and you’ll see the River Campus on your diagonal left in front of the beautiful Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge (with the white cables). Go ¾’s of the way around the rotary and you have arrived. FYI, a rotary is called a “Round-A-Bout” around about these parts, for some reason. THE BACK WAY from your hotels directly to the River Campus with less traffic (but conscientious police, so follow the 45-MPH speed limit!): Auburn Place/Holiday Inn visitors turn right out of your parking lots on Hwy K/William Street and make your first Right at the Panera Bread onto Mt. Auburn Road. Drury Lodge folks come back past the Starbucks (which opens at 5:30 am!), make a quick right and the turn left at the light onto Hwy K/William Street) and then turn right at Panera Bread onto Mt. Auburn Road. Drive 1 mile to Highway 74, turn left at the light and another 2.5 miles to the River Campus on your Left. Drury Suite visitors turn left out of parking lot and then left onto Siemers Avenue. Drive 1 mile to Highway 74, left at the stop sign, 2.5 miles to River Campus. If you’re coming back to the hotels directly from the River Campus, the easiest way is to reverse these directions. But, again, drive carefully on Rt. 74, don’t speed! River Campus to Parker Dance Studio & the Student Recreation Center: Circle the Round-A-Bout ¾’s of the way again back onto the red brick road of Fountain Street. Go two blocks to William Street, turn Left. Turn Right at the first light, Sprigg Street, and travel to Broadway. If you’re going to Parker Dance Studio, turn Left on Broadway and go through one light at Pacific plus another block to actual water fountains at Henderson Avenue. Turn Right onto Henderson, travel two longish blocks up the hill past the Academic Dome on your right in the middle of campus to the Parker Hall parking lots (and ACDFA signs) at the top of the hill on your right. To get to the Student Recreation Center, continue up Henderson past Parker to the next intersection at New Madrid Street and turn Right. Zigzag around to the left and start down the hill and you’ll see the Student Rec Center on your left. The two Dance Studios in the Rec Center are in the nearest section of the building with the large rounded windows. Be ready for the parking lot on your left so you don’t pass the Rec Center and park anywhere in the lots. Walk to the right past the rounded windows and turn left into the double doors of the Rec Center. Show your Conference Pass to the attendant and head up the stairs to the Aerobics Studio 202 (AS202) and Multi-Purpose Studio 203 (MP203). Reverse directions to get back to Parker or the River Campus…OR, if you want to go a quicker way back to the River Campus, turn LEFT out of the Rec Center parking lots and go to the bottom of the New Madrid Street hill. Turn Right onto Sprigg Street, take it 3 lights to William Street, turn left at the light, go three blocks to Fountain Street, then turn right onto the red brick road…. You can get to both the Rec Center AND Parker from the River Campus this back way, too, if you reverse these directions. Usually less traffic, quicker!! PARKING You will find temporary parking permits in your packets when you check in at the River Campus Atrium. YOU MUST PLACE THEM ON THE DASHBOARD OF THE DRIVER’S SIDE OF YOUR VEHICLE. There is no cost for the permit. Parking is open in any of the parking lots with some designated ACDFA areas.
