Queen Mary RAG Nominated Charity Application Form 2015-16 Introduction RAG stands for Raising & Giving - an integral part of the student experience at Queen Mary Students’ Union and at the Barts & The London Students’ Association. Each year RAG raises thousands of pounds through voluntary donations, events, and entering students into challenge-based activities. These funds are distributed to our nominated charities on an annual basis. Our work is co-ordinated by a group of dedicated students, led by an elected officer, and supported by the Student Engagement Team. As we host many events on-campus (and some off-campus), there are plenty of opportunities for each of our nominated charities to get involved, enhancing the experience for attendees whilst promoting awareness. We usually have three nominated charities per year, this ensures that our students understand what each charity represents, and that the money that they raise can make a real difference. Charities who wish to become one of the QM RAG nominated charities are encouraged to submit the application form below. Applications will then be shortlisted by the elected RAG Officer, RAG Committee and Student Engagement Team. One charity will be selected through a vote run across campus and online through our website, this means our students will get their chance to choose which organisation they want the Queen Mary Students’ Union to support. 2015/16 Our RAG Officer for QM RAG this year is Trisha Mistry. She will be leading a team in shortlisting charities; we will work alongside these charities for a whole year and raise money for their causes. 2015-16 sees increased staff support dedicated to RAG, a renewed focus on its activities and a new branding and communications strategy for RAG rolled out - so it should certainly be an exciting year to be one of our nominated charities. Applying Please ensure your application is no longer than two sides. To apply you must be a UK registered charity. We will not accept applications from organisations who do not meet this criterion. Please note that, if the charity is affiliated to a particular political party or religious organisation, this does not prevent them from being chosen, but this factor may be taken into consideration. Queen Mary Students’ Union & RAG have no political or religious affiliation. Applications close Monday 17TH August 9am Please email completed applications to su-rag@qmul.ac.uk. (We will only accept emailed applications) Please also attach your charity logo with your completed application if possible.
