NEWSLETTER www.ascension-island.gov.ac/government/school Wednesday, 10 February 2016 Dear Parents and Carers, Harvest Festival Sports Day 2015 A special Thank You to Mr Colin Duncan for organising his 20th Sport Day event at Two Boats School on his Birthday! This day was a real success full of fun and laughter and it could not have been possible to organise without Mrs Angela Yon and the support of the team of Two Boats School staff, the parents and community volunteers, and the young people of course! The food sale led by Ms Carolyn Yon and her family made £496! The Elliott House won this year! Thank you to Miss Tompsett and the Primary sector team of teachers for organising our Assembly last Friday. The Highlight of the event was the song “Only one world!” Dr Bill Hardy was our special guest for harvest this year, he spoke to us about different fruit used in the bible at different times and he then shared with us the meaning of Harvest in the Christian Faith. Thank you to everybody who contributed in the generous donations received for Harvest by the school. The food has been packed by volunteers and it is now ready to go on the ship this Sunday to reach elderly people in Saint Helena! Congratulations to all who took part in the day! Learning together, Success forever TBS NEWSLETTER especially enjoyed seeing the turtle turning equipment and imagining what it would have been like to live in the fort! Primary Assembly Assemblies will take place on Tuesday morning for the Primary Sector until the end of term. Bicentenary Exhibition Primary pupils have been working hard on presentation work for their bicentenary exhibition at the museum. Parents are invited to attend this exhibition on Monday 19th October at 6pm. This work has involved several visits for the pupils to explore the island’s history. Thank you to their teachers for making the most of this opportunity and the extra effort it has taken to organise these visits. Author visit For our school assembly on Friday 2nd October, we were blessed to be joined by author and journalist Duff Hart-Davis.
