2015-2016 Registration & Membership
The official swimming year runs from 1st October to 30th September the following year.
Membership (registration) must be renewed annually. Swimming Australia (SAL) allocates
membership numbers and they remain the same every year for each member. It is essential to be a
member of a NSW swim club to compete in any Swimming NSW (SNSW) carnivals.
A Registration fee for Lane Cove Swim Club to be a member, is incorporated into the one total fee
paid via online membership/registration through SNSW website.
A ‘General Swimmer’ is a member entitled to swim at Saturday Morning Summer Club, Friday night
Winter Club, The Mile Swim and Club Championships.
A ‘Competitive Swimmer’ is a member that is entitled to compete at all Club events, Area, State or
National level. Competitive swimmer membership includes all general swimmer membership
inclusions of race entries at Saturday Morning Summer club, Friday Night Winter Club, the Mile
Swim and Club Championships PLUS supports attendance of coaches at targeted meets and
payment of any relay entry fees for swimmers selected to swim in LCSC team relay events.
A ‘Non-Swimmer/Learn to Swim Swimmer’ is defined as a member who does not swim at club,
area, state or national level. This can include parents, officials, coaches and members enrolled in
Learn-to-Swim programs.
2015/16 SNSW/SAL Swimming Registration fees are included in all LCSC Annual Membership Fees
below:
Swimmer: $59.00
Non-swimmer: $18.50
This is a requisite part that covers personal injury insurance and registration to both Swimming NSW and Swimming

Terms & Conditions for Membership
1. To compete at a carnival, competitive swimmers are required to nominate a non-swimming
adult (16 years or over) as their assistant. The nominated non-swimming adult is required to
perform official duties for LCSC at the carnival (timekeeping, marshalling, etc) as designated
by a roster and as notified by email.
2. Swimmers must retain a LCSC competitive membership if training with LCSC squads.
3. All Swimmers agree to the use of photographs of the swimmer to be used on the LCSC
website and in promotional material. If they do not agree, consent can be declined by
emailing lanecoveswimclub@gmail.com and identifying the swimmer where permission is not
granted.
4. No club swimmer will be considered for relay team selection unless they have a competitive
swimmer membership.
5. For Insurance purposes Lane Cove Swim Club requires one parent from each family to
register as a Non-Swimming member of Swimming NSW if your child is under 18 years of
age.
It is crucial to the smooth running of LCSC that our parents are prepared to be involved with Club
activities. A number of parents have Committee roles and many are accredited in various duties
required for meet hosting and running of our district meets held by Sydney Metro North East
(SMNE) and other official carnivals.
In addition, our Club and Area are continuously training parents to become technical officials to help
our swim meets run smoothly. These roles can involve becoming a Marshall, Check Starter, Line
Judge, etc. It is essential for some parents to be willing to take on these roles to enable LCSC and
the SMNE to continue to host meets for our Swimmers.
