CTAB Applications & Equipment Committee Meeting – 11/03/2010 Attending: Joe Moreau, Mike Pisa, Paul Taylor, Tim Yager, David McQuin, Chris Hebblethwaite, Rick Buck, Jean Dufore, Natalie Sturr LakerApps Google Reader - The CTAB Education Committee asked that the Appl/Equip Committee look at Google Reader, a service to read RSS feeds. Paul Taylor determined that Google has not made Google Reader available to Apps for Education users. Google Sites - The CTAB Education Committee asked that the Appl/Equip Committee look at Google Sites, a service for web page creation. o The Committee has asked CTS to first evaluate the technical issues and determine if delivering Sites is feasible and/or what are the concerns. o There were major concerns by both CTS and Committee last Spring. SmartSheet – is a paid service (purchased through GoogleApps Marketplace) that provides Project Management tools. It was described as a “super-lite version of MS Project”. This is currently available to the campus community. Computer User Privileges The bulk of the meeting was spent discussing, reviewing and editing the document on computer user privileges. The extensive discussion provided additional issues to include in the document. Natalie, Chris and Joe will continue work on the document to be presented at the next Appl/Equip Meeting.
