KINDERGARTEN 2016 TRANSITION
Parkview Public School will again host the extremely popular and extended Kindergarten 2016 Transition Program
this year.
The program will run weekly on Wednesday’s from August 5th (Week 4, Term 3) until 9th December (Week 10, Term
4). Initially the program will run from 11.30am until 1.15pm each Wednesday. As we assess the children’s progress
the timing may alter to cater for identified needs.
The extended program is designed to achieve a number of goals. These include:
 better preparing children for the commencement of primary school.
 Placing children in the structured learning environment of a Kindergarten classroom, allowing the children
to gain familiarity with their surrounds and feel more comfortable in their learning environment.
 build on experiences gained either during pre-schooling or at home to ensure that fundamental concepts
are entrenched prior to the commencement of formal schooling in 2016.
We encourage all children regardless of whether or not they are attending our school in 2016, to take advantage
of this opportunity.
To aid parents who do not have transport, or whose children attend formal pre-schooling on Wednesdays, a bus
(supervised by a staff member) will be provided to transport children to and from designated pick up points.
Depending on indications of necessity, these pick up points could include ABC Learning Centre, Leeton Pre-School,
Leeton Early Learning Centre as well as bus stops across the Leeton township including Golf Course Estate, Gralee,
Leeton Central, Willimbong, Wattle Hill and Parkview.
Below is an expression of interest form for the Kindergarten 2016 Transition Program. Please fill it in and return to
school as soon as possible, but no later than June 26th. This expression of interest form will form the basis of our
planning for the transition program. Once returned we will contact you with a formal program for the
commencement of the Kindergarten 2016 Transition Program.
