Re. Psychiatric Trainees’ Committee (PTC)
Applications are invited for two Student Associates to represent Medical Students
and Foundation Doctors on the Psychiatric Trainees’ Committee (PTC). There must
be one ‘medical student’ Student Associate, and one ‘foundation doctor’ Student
Associate. The procedure for conducting this election, and the Regulations that
govern it, are set out below.
Application Process and Closing Date
Applications should be dated, and should take the form of a biography of a
maximum of 200 words, explaining why you think you would be the best candidate
for the position. Please note if the word limit is exceeded, only the first 200 words
will be submitted to the election panel. Applications should follow the formal
template attached and include the name, training grade (i.e. medical student,
including year / FY1 / FY2) and Student Associate Number of the College.
Applications should be emailed to ptcsupport@rcpsych.ac.uk to arrive no later than
Monday 20 April 2015. If there are more applications than vacancies, a ballot will
be held.
The Council has agreed that Student Associates of the College who are standing for
election should ensure that their training and/or employing authorities are aware of
the time commitment involved. Some employing authorities will agree to fund the
necessary travel expenses to attend meetings, and members should attempt to
secure travelling expenses in this way.
