Classification of animals
In the planet there are many kids of animals in different terrestrial and
aquatic habitats. These animals can be classified in many different forms. For
example, animals with backbones are named vertebrates and animals that
don’t have a backbone are called invertebrates. The vertebrate animals are
also divided into five (5) categories. The first category is the mammals; these
animals have hair or fur, are warm- blooded and give birth. They are
vertebrates. The second category is the birds. The birds have feathers and
wings, are warm-blooded and lay eggs. They are vertebrates too. Thirdly we
have the fish, fish are cold-blooded, have scales and gills, lay eggs and can breathe underwater and have a backbone.
There are also reptiles, these vertebrates have scales and dry skin, they lay eggs and are cold blooded. Finally we have
the amphibians, they are cold-blooded; they are vertebrates and can live on land and water.
Find the differences and the characteristics in common for the following categories of animals.
