Friends of Parker’s Primary School (FOPPS) April 2015 Newsletter HOT NEWS!!! School Hall Whiteboard – we have raised the majority of funds for this and are now in the process of obtaining quotes for the new equipment!! Class Afternoon Tea/Cake and a Cuppa. Afternoon sessions, with parents/carer’s invited to enjoy a Cake and a Cuppa between 3.00 and 3.30. For the safety of the children, please enjoy your drinks in the Quiet Room or marked area outside Class 1 (and remember to collect children from the school gate at the end of their day!). Please send your child in with 25p to buy a cake and drink during the school day. Thursday 16 April – Afternoon Tea with Class 3. Saturday 18 April - The Old Bell Curry Night. The Old Bell are kindly hosting two sittings, at 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Please see separate sheet and book direct with the Bell. Bag2School Collection – Wednesday 22 April. Thursday 30 April – Friends Meeting at 6.00pm at the School. We will be discussing the Saham Shield and looking to approve quotes for the Hall White Board. Also discussing other summer term events. All Welcome. Friday 1 May – Friends Non-Uniform Day Instead of paying, please bring in anything new suitable for raffle and Tombola Prizes or sweets for the Sweetie Tombola (eg, unwanted gifts, any wrapped sweets, including loose Quality Street, etc). Friday 8 May – Saham Shield - After School Parker’s turn to host the inter-school Football and Netball Tournament. This is one of our biggest fundraisers, where we sell cakes, refreshments, BBQ and also have a plant stall so if you are able to donate cakes or have any spare plants please take these to school on Friday morning. If you are able to help during part the afternoon (either before the end of the school day to set up, or during the event), please let me know or find me on the day! Tuesday 9 June – Afternoon Tea/Cake and a Cuppa with Class 2. Thursday 9 July (alt Friday 10 July) Sports Day Refreshments/Cream Teas/BBQ So far, this has earned over £200.00 for the school. When browsing or shopping online if you log into www.easyfundraising.org.uk and select your store (eg, eBay, M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury, Butlins, Haven, mobile phones, Amazon, etc), you will be redirected to your regular website and earn funds for the school. Easy! Help Required! If you are able to help with any of the following, please let me know: Friday 1 May – helping to sort through the non-uniform donations from 8.45am for about an hour. Friday 8 May – Saham Shield. Set up during afternoon and/or help after school. Thursday 9 July – making scones, setting up and/or serving refreshments/ BBQ at Sports day.
