Well, at last it’s ready! As you will have seen from Mrs Franceschi’s letter, there have had to
be some ‘last minute’ changes to how the week was due to run due to a problem with
staffing on Thursday 10th July; this is why the programme has come out later than planned.
PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY!

We MUST have a response from EVERYBODY.

“How does Enrichment Week work?”
Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday – most students will be involved in a major project lasting
across these days.
There are some exceptions:
Learning Hub Students

You are involved in a 5-day project, The Hub Goes Bear!
Barcelona Trip Students

If you are already booked to go to Barcelona – just tick the relevant box and do
nothing else!
Joseph Production

This is a FIVE day package! 4 days of production rehearsals and TWO
performances on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and a FREE trip into a
fantastic Open Air Performance in Regent’s Park on Friday!
o You can join this even if you haven’t been involved up to now!
o You MUST tick this one if you’ve already committed to the production

Thursday 10th July


Year 10, you have a HIGHLY important Careers Education, Information, Advice and
Guidance Day. Guests from businesses and other services will be taking you
through workshops designed to help you prepare for life ahead.
Year 7 – 9, as mentioned in Mrs Franceschi’s letter, unfortunately, we cannot provide
a programme for you that day.
Friday 11th July


Some of Year 9&10 (Best Attenders) have been invited to a specially part-funded trip
to Thorpe Park.
There are also some special projects/trips from which you can choose ONE for the
day, OR you can join your Year Group Activity for the day. If we cannot fit you in to
your first choice, you will be assigned to your Year Group Activity for the day
o Year 7 - D&T Canals Project
o Year 8 – Action Science – Rocket Building and testing etc!
o Year 9 / 10 plan to be confirmed depending upon numbers required.

We will have lunch earlier (12:30) during the week
Remember to bring your lunch card!

Read the programme carefully and, if costs/trips are involved, discuss these at
home before deciding!
Choose a first and second choice 3-day package to take part in for Monday to
Wednesday.
You can join the Joseph Production at this stage, too! Just tick (/) the ‘Joseph’ box

Projects with Trips:

Some of the projects involve trips off site. The Academy is paying most of the costs,
but you be asked to pay a small amount towards the cost of entry tickets.
Principal’s Arts Award Winners – Royal Opera House Trip, Monday 7th July

You must still choose a 3-day project to be involved with, but you will join it for
Tuesday/Wednesday.

Go Kart in the Academy!
The Tourist Board and Town Museum need
your help to research, interview people and
build up information documents, blogs, videos,
about Harlow Old and New Towns to promote
the area and inform visitors. You will be out
and about!
What do you hold a strong opinion about?
What do you want to see change in our world?
Create a real-life campaign having researched
your chosen subject and identified the best
ways to get your message across!
How much profit can you make from a £10
start-up?! Work in small teams, create an idea,
use the £10 to buy raw materials; set about
making money! All the proceeds will go to our
partner charity Accuro – supporting adults with
Learning Disabilities
A forensic science project which includes
dissection, use of chemicals to solve murder
mysteries and a trip to the Natural History
Museum in London!
Build your own phone app; create a radio
advert to market it; build a website to
promote/distribute it! SORRY - Not open to
Yr9/10 Optional ICT students (you’ve
covered parts of this already!)
Spend time on site developing the personal and
team skills required to complete a military-style
assault course – then go and do it!
