REHABILITATION and TREATMENT
BRIEF WRITE UP ON VARIOUS PATIES AVAILABLE / OFFERED:
Name Of Course With Alternative System
NATUROPATHY
Naturopathy treatment is a practice of treating diseases by prescribing natural medicines. It is a
form of treatment which emphasizes the tendency of the body to retain a sense of balance and
cure itself. Naturopathy treatments are non toxic and stimulate healing and cleansing responses
in a patient. Naturopathy involves diagnosis and prescription of modalities and methods of
nature. Naturopathic medicines mainly include water, earth, air, light, heat and diet therapy.
YOGA THERAPY
The most important benefit of yoga is physical and mental therapy. The aging process, which is
largely an artificial condition, caused mainly by autointoxication or self-poisoning, can be slowed
down by practicing yoga. By keeping the body clean, flexible and well lubricated, we can
significantly reduce the matabolic process of cell deterioration. To get the maximum benefits of
yoga one has to combine the practices of yogasanas, pranayama and meditation.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage Therapy, a combination of science and art, provides a relaxing experience by artistic
hand strokes on the body to rejuvenate the mind and body and eliminate stress scientifically.
The concept of massage is evident throughout history. The origin of the term “massage” can be
traced to four sources:
* Greek – masso/massein, meaning to touch or to handle, also meaning to knead or to squeeze
*Latin - massa, lifted from Greek masso and means the same
*Arabic- mass'h or mass, means to press softly
* Sanskrit- makeh, also means to press softly
ACUPRESSURE
The body and all matter is made up of electro-magnetic forces. It was ironically western
scientists who ingeniously verified the existence of electro-magnetism which provided a logical
explanation for the positive results from acupuncture and acupressure therapy. It has a rapport
with the energy of the body and can travel through the body like other forms of electricity,
sound, and waveforms of energy. When needles or pressure are used, they act as antennae
that conduct the electro-magnetic energy from the air into the body. Acupressure massage can
be very effective both as prevention and as a treatment for many health conditions.
Acupressure techniques have been used to provide quick, cost-free, and effective relief from
many symptoms.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupoints used in treatment may or may not be in the same area of the body as the targeted
symptom. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory for the selection of such points and
their effectiveness is that they work by stimulating the meridian system to bring about relief by
rebalancing yin, yang and qi (also spelled "chi" or "ki"). This theory is based on the paradigm of
TCM and has no analogue in western medicine.
HERBOPATHY
People on all continents have used hundreds to thousands of indigenous plants for treatment of
ailments since prehistoric times. Medicinal herbs were found in the personal effects of Ötzi the
Iceman, whose body was frozen in the Swiss Alps for more than 5,300 years. These herbs
appear to have been used to treat the parasites found in his intestines. Anthropologists theorize
that animals evolved a tendency to seek out bitter plant parts in response to illness.
BACH FLOWER
Bach thought of illness as the result of "a contradiction between the purposes of the soul and
the personality's point of view." This internal war, according to Bach, leads to negative moods
and energy blocking, which causes a lack of "harmony," thus leading to physical diseases.
Rather than being based on research using the scientific method, Bach's flower remedies were
intuitively derived and based on his perceived psychic connections to the plants. If Bach felt a
negative emotion, he would hold his hand over different plants, and if one alleviated the
emotion, he would ascribe the power to heal that emotional problem to that plant. He believed
that early morning sunlight passing through dew-drops on flower petals transferred the healing
power of the flower onto the water, so he would collect the dew drops from the plants and
preserve the dew with an equal amount of brandy to produce a mother tincture which would be
further diluted before use. Later, he found that the amount of dew he could collect was not
sufficient, so he would suspend flowers in spring water and allow the sun's rays to pass through
them.
REIKI HEALING
In Western Reiki, it is taught that Reiki works in conjunction with the meridian energy lines and
chakras through the use of the hand-positions, which normally correspond to the seven major
chakras on the body. These hand-positions are used both on the front and back of the body,
and can include specific areas (see localised treatment). According to authors such James
Deacon, Usui used only five formal hand-positions, which focused on the head and neck. After
Reiki had been given first to the head and neck area, specific areas of the body where
imbalances were present would then be treated. The use of the chakras is widespread within
Western Reiki, though not as much within Traditional Japanese Reiki, as it concentrates more
on treating specific areas of the body after using techniques such as Byosen-ho and Reiji-ho,
which are used to find areas of dis-ease in the auras and physical body. Though the specific use
of breath and breathing is central to many styles of Japanese Reiki, it is often a neglected topic
in Western Reiki.
MAGNET THERAPY
Magnet therapy, magnetic therapy, magnetotherapy, or magnotherapy is an alternative
medicine practice involving the use of static magnetic fields. Practitioners claim that subjecting
certain parts of the body to magnetostatic fields produced by permanent magnets has beneficial
health effects. Magnet therapy is considered pseudoscientific due to both physical and biological
implausibility, as well as a lack of any established effect on health or healing.[1][2][3] Although
hemoglobin, the blood protein that carries oxygen, is weakly diamagnetic and is repulsed by
magnetic fields, the magnets used in magnetic therapy are many orders of magnitude too weak
to have any measurable effect on blood flow.
ELECTRO - HOMOEOPATHY
Electrohomoeopathy is a derivative of homoeopathy that had its origins in the 19th century with
the claims of Count Cesare Mattei. The name is derived from a combination of electro (referring
to an electric bio-energy content supposedly extracted from plants and of therapeutic value,
rather than electricity in its conventional sense) and homoeopathy (referring to an alternative
medicinal philosophy developed by Samuel Hahnemann in the 18th century).
Electrohomoeopathy has been defined as the combination of electrical devices and
homoeopathy, however some contend that it is the therapeutic use of homeopathic preparations
of certain "electric bio-energy" herbs that is intended by the term. It is regarded as distinct
from traditional homeopathy, which relies on serially diluted remedies of substances that cause
similar symptoms to those as it is attempting to cure as its primary form of treatment,
electrohomoeopathy, however, does not directly follow the "law of similars". Like traditional
homoeopathy, modern day applications of electrohomoeopathy are generally regarded by the
medical and scientific communities as pseudoscience or quackery.
AROMA THERAPY
Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile plant materials, known as
essential oils, and other aromatic compounds for the purpose of altering a person's mood,
cognitive function or health. The effectiveness of aromatherapy is yet to be scientifically proven,
however some evidence exists that essential oils may have therapeutic potential. Since some
essential oils such as tea tree have demonstrated anti-microbial effects, it has been suggested
that they may be useful for the treatment of infectious diseases. The evidence base for the
efficacy of aromatherapy used to treat medical conditions remains poor with a particular paucity
of methodologically rigorous studies
TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
Traditional medicine (also known as indigenous or folk medicine) comprises medical knowledge
systems that developed over generations within various societies before the era of modern
medicine. Practices known as traditional medicines include Herbal, Ayurveda, Siddha medicine,
Unani, ancient Iranian medicine, Islamic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, Acupuncture,
Muti, Ifá, traditional African medicine, and other medical knowledge and practices all over the
globe.
HOMELY MEDICINE
In this study, we explore how specific individual, family, and family-within-community
characteristics, as well as aspects of in-home family therapy, relate to responses to treatment.
The Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale scores and Global Assessment of
Functioning scores were used as outcome measures. Results revealed significant differences
between pre and post scores for clients receiving in-home family therapy services, providing an
initial indicator of treatment success. In addition, primary family caregiver social support, role
performance in school / work, and self-harmful behavior were indicative of successful outcomes.
Clients with higher problem levels had the greatest rates of change, and clients receiving more
hours of services fared better in therapy.
HYPNO THERAPY
A person who is hypnotized displays certain unusual characteristics and propensities, compared
with a non-hypnotized subject, most notably hyper-suggestibility, which some authorities have
considered a sine qua non of hypnosis. Hypno-therapy is often applied in order to modify a
subject's behavior, emotional content, and attitudes, as well as a wide range of conditions
including dysfunctional habits, anxiety, stress-related illness, pain management, and personal
development.
GEM THERAPY
In this mechanical world, the life is full of stress and strained and these often disturb us. Where
as every body desires peace and prosperity in life. There are various options such as allopathic
medicine, homeopathic medicine, ayurvedic, holisticpathy, yoga, naturopathy etc. to help us.
The gemstone therapy is one of the ancient & natural science followed in India million years ago
but lost in transition, does now gearing up with better understanding. This therapy is harmless
with no side effect, and may resolve many forthcoming issues for the control of problems
aroused. The disappearance of this science in the last few centuries appears to be associated
with two reasons: - the leaders in each society knew the concepts but did not pass on to others
for one reason to other. The cost of gems and their rare availability. However this science
remained in the hands of limited people.
HYDRO THERAPY
Hydro-therapy, formerly called hydropathy involves the use of water for pain-relief and treating
illness. The term hydro-therapy itself is synonymous with the term water cure as it was
originally marketed by practitioners and promoters in the 1800s. A hydro-therapist therefore, is
someone who practices hydro-therapy. Water cure has since come to have two opposing
definitions, which can cause confusion. (a) Water cure therapy? a course of medical treatment
by hydro-therapy (b) water cure torture? a form of torture in which a person is forced to drink
large quantities of water.
IMMUNO HOMOEOPATH
In Western culture, alternative medicine is any healing practice "that does not fall within the
realm of conventional medicine", or "that which has not been shown consistently to be
effective." It is often opposed to evidence based medicine and encompasses therapies with an
historical or cultural, rather than a scientific, basis. The American National Center for
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) cites examples including naturopathy,
chiropractic medicine, herbalism, traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, meditation, yoga,
biofeedback, hypnosis, homeopathy, acupuncture, and nutritional-based therapies, in addition
to a range of other practices. It is frequently grouped with complementary medicine, which
generally refers to the same interventions when used in conjunction with mainstream
techniques, under the umbrella term complementary and alternative medicine, or CAM. Some
researchers in alternative medicine oppose this grouping, preferring to emphasize differences of
approach, but nevertheless use the term CAM, which has become standard.
DIET THERAPY
Diet would seem to be something our body requires on a physical level to build new cells, to
give us energy, to ease hunger, our diets are most important to feed our brain and our heart so
we can maintain life. The choices we make of which foods we put in our bodies sets the basis
for physical, mental and spiritual health Every single moment of every single day from the
moment of our birth, our bodies strive for life - long, energetic, healthy, happy life. We are
beautifully designed to live and to live fully! (Thank you God!) We are for sure the most
sophisticated "vehicle" on this planet. Every single moment we are building bone cells, muscle
cells, liver cells, pancreas cells, brain cells, skin cells and so on. In a one year time frame we
rebuild and replace every single cell in our bodies. The catch here is, what quality of raw
materials are we putting in while we are building all these cells.
