ARLINGTON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY DRESS AND GROOMING All students are required to wear a designated school uniform. Students must wear an acceptable school shoe during the day and bring an athletic shoe for Physical Education only. All jewelry should be average in size, modest in appearance. No more than one bracelet may be worn at a time. Girls may only wear one ring per hand. Boys may not wear finger or ear rings. Necklaces or chains of any type may not be worn over the uniform at any time. Please read this code very carefully. The uniform policy will be strictly enforced. Your child will be sent home or you will be called to bring proper clothes if the student is out of uniform. KINDERGARTEN THROUGH FOURTH GRADE Girls School approved Plaid Jumper with rounded collar or split neck top. NO SKIRTS! Pastel blue or white blouse, Peter Pan collar, long or short sleeve (NO YELLOW) White, navy blue, red socks or tights (no stockings), if socks are worn with tights they must be the same color Navy blue Cardigan sweater if desired 4th grade girls may carry a purse School approved navy blue or black pants may be worn in November through March EXCEPT on Wednesdays (Chapel) and special program days. Girls must wear jumpers for these occasions. Blue, Black, or Brown School Shoe No Lip gloss (chapstick or lip balm is acceptable) No colored fingernail polish (except for dress down days) No acrylic nails Boys Navy blue or black pants (corduroys are acceptable) WITH A BELT. Shorts may be worn in August, September, May and June EXCEPT Wednesdays (Chapel) and special program days. Polo Style Shirts or dress button down shirts (pastel blue or white) long or short sleeves. Shirts must be tucked into the pants, with a belt. Undershirts should not show at all. Solid navy or black tie for Wednesday Chapel and special programs only. Black, navy or white socks. No excessive hair accessories 1 pair of earrings (no larger than a quarter), 1 small bracelet, and 1 ring can be worn at any given time. Female students may wear modest earrings (bracelet sized earrings are not acceptable) and bracelets (ABSOLUTELY NO MORE THAN TWO!). Boys may not wear earrings during any school-sponsored function. Students may not wear any jewelry that can be seen on or through their clothing at any time. Watches that do not have music, lights, or alarms are permitted for all students. 2. The school promotes a “no name brand” policy for uniform pants, shirts, ties, blouses, sweaters, gym shorts, gym shirts, outerwear, book-bags, key chains, and book covers. Name brand clothing will be permitted for gym shoes, and on designated Dress down Days. The school reserves the right to determine if clothing is appropriate. HAIR STYLES/GROOMING All students’ hairstyles must be neat and must not be distracting to the learning environment. The school reserves the right to determine what constitutes “a distraction.” Boy’s hairstyles must be cropped to no more than one inch from the head. Multiple parts, designs, lettering, Mohawks, Dreadlocks, and braids are not permissible. DRESS DOWN DAYS Students will be allowed a Dress down Day (no uniforms) at the permission of the School Principal. Dress down Days may be earned by being placed on the Principal’s List, Honor Roll, Merit Roll or Perfect Attendance Roll. Students will be allowed to wear appropriate name brand clothing on Dress down Days.
