The Races:




Run United IN COLOR 5K Trail Run/Walk: Saturday, June 28, 2014 (Race start 8:30am)
Trail Splash 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, August 23, 2014 (Race Start 8:30am)
Sail the Trail 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, September 13, 2014 (Race Start 8:30am)
Spooky Trail Chase 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, November 1, 2014 (Race Start 4:00pm)
Restrictions and Benefits



Volunteers MUST be at least 16 years of age to volunteer.
All volunteers get a free t-shirt identifying them as a member of the Race Crew, a key factor in
the success of the races!
All volunteers get to have the most fun at helping make these races in our community a success!

Good Samaritan- If you choose to be a Good Samaritan your mission will be to help the runners
SURVIVE the chase! You may be needed prior to, during or after the race! Please note that you cannot
be a Good Samaritan unless you fill out the volunteer application. As Good Samaritans you will be
working with the all of the crazy, scared and excited runners at registration, water stations, survival gear
check, race check points and the finish line. (Arrive by 2pm)
ACTORS - please provide your own “Family Friendly” scary costume/mask (Arrive by 2pm)
Parking / Traffic Assistance (please arrive by 2pm for instructions)
Volunteer Liability Waiver
I know that volunteering to work in the above named races can be a potentially dangerous activity. I
assume all risks associated with my involvement in the races and pre- and post-race events including but
not limited to falls, physical contact with participants, the effects of altitude, weather and exposure, the
conditions of the course, transport in vehicles and other physical factors. Having read this waiver in its
entirety, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release United Way of Coastal
Carolina, affiliated organizations, and all sponsors, their representatives, whether herein named or
unnamed, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in these activities
whether or not that liability arises out of negligence or carelessness on my part or on the part of persons
named or unnamed in this waiver.
