Instructions: Tool Oxygen Regulator (T.O.R.) Removing the oxygen regulator: 1. Slide the T.O.R.’s valve stem opening over the oxygen bottles turn on/shut off valve. 2. Turn counter clockwise until the bottle is completely shut off. 3. Bleed oxygen by turning liter flow to its maximum flow rate. This should empty any residual pressure left in the regulator’s cavity. 4. Place the T.O.R. in your dominant hand and lay the T.O.R.’s retainer pin over the oxygen regulator’s butterfly stem. Turn counter clockwise until the pressure of the retainer screw loosens up. 5. Manually remove the regulator. Installing the oxygen regulator: 1. Place the oxygen regulator ensuring that it has an intact gasket on a fresh, filled bottle of oxygen. 2. Manually turn the butterfly stems to set the retainer screw in place. 3. Apply the T.O.R. manually and hand-tighten the butterfly stem to set the retainer screw properly on the oxygen tank. 4. Attach the oxygen stem opening of the T.O.R. and turn the stem clockwise to the fully open position. (The regulator gauge should register the proper PSI reading.) Shut the oxygen liter flow knob. Note: If the oxygen system leaks after following the instructions for installing the oxygen regulator, repeat the steps for removing and installing the oxygen regulator. If the oxygen system still leaks, follow your department guidelines for reporting and/or replacing malfunctioning equipment. Care and Maintenance of the T.O.R.
