Other updates 3) Best practices manuscript—Nina reported on contacting designated leads for further discussion of preparation of the manuscript. They are in process. They plan to include profiles of mentor(s) as well as scholar(s). 4) IDW presence on the RCMAR Website: please review the examples at the links below and submit 1-2 scholars for the website. Nina will send email with specific info. 5) Everyone select two alumni RCMAR scholars for update on the website. The notification that data was received was not sending, but the data was stored. Steve Wallace had asked for an extension from NIA to confirm the data submitted. 7) Proposal solicitation and Involving partners: Nina provided overview of prior discussion. 8 -- 11) Scholar/proposal selection process/criteria, Mentor selection and training, Specifics of each training program (e.g., content, teachers, online resources that may be available to other sites), Evaluating mentorship quality and effectiveness: Nina clarified again that these were for facilitators to consider as discussion points for future calls, rather than agenda items for this call. Topic for Discussion 12) National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) – awarded to collaborative effort involving SACNAS, U of Minnesota, U of Wisconsin and Boston College as leaders and over 100 institutions and professional networks as partners (including several RCMAR partners). UCLA (Keith Norris, PI) was awarded the NIH Coordination and Evaluation Center for Enhancing the Diversity of the NIH-funded Workforce Program – for both NRMN and the BUILD awards.
