Real-Life Connection: Action verbs are a huge part of our everyday lives. We are constantly performing some
kind of action whether it be sitting, walking, talking, or running the possibilities are endless! Any time we want
to tell about an event we use action verb and also any time we want to tell about something that we are going to
do in the future we use action verbs.
Assignment Extension: After school, keep a log of all the actions you or your family members perform. For
Example: Mom cooked supper. We ate supper I brushed my teeth. She fed the dog. List 10 sentences and
underline the action verb in each one. Tomorrow at school, we will share some things from our lists.
Differentiation Notes:
Students who work at a slower pace will be given
extra time to complete activities. A variety of
activities will be available. Students who would rather
not do the extension activity at home for whatever
reason may complete it during recess. Modifications
for special education students with IEPs and other
students with exceptional needs will be discussed with
the mentoring teacher.
